When the New York Times loved Trump

Can you read the NYT blurb on the book? "Trump makes you believe for a moment in the American dream again."

Paul Goldberg re-read Trump's The Art of the Deal.

I would be remiss to neglect this: “I play to people’s fantasies. People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do. People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular. I call it truthful hyperbole. It’s an innocent form of exaggeration—and it’s a very effective form of promotion.”

“Indeed!” I concurred on the margins.

What is it with the antipathy people feel towards other people's success? It's more than simple jealousy.

Fine. You don't have to like them. I can admire and respect Donald Trump's accomplishments but I have a pretty good idea we won't be fishing buddies.

President Trump has far exceeded my expectations in his first year as president, and frankly I think he is the only one who could have done it. He has a capacity for rational and common-sense action that was totally lacking in his predecessor. And he follows through on his promises.

Getting tax reform through was a major accomplishment that really levels the playing field again in terms of competing with other nations. I am hoping that it means that the trillions in capital which fled the U.S. during the Obama administration will flow back in and get our dead economy going again.

President Trump is the only major presidential candidate in the past thirty years who is not owned by Davos nor the Bilderbergs. THAT is why he is so effective. And that is also why the screeching and wailing is so loud against him by not only the Democrats but the Koch-sucking Rove Republican swill as well, and the Media, and the rest of the Western "leaders". When Bergoglio says bad things about you, you must be doing a WHOLE lot right.

My expectations for Trump were low - but he wasn't hillary the tyrant crook, which was good enough.

But the way he has hung in there and vigorously fought off and partially neutralized the press propaganda and evil-infiltrated FBI/Justice Department, is admirable. He has had to get lobbyist-bribed, amoral, self-enriching congresscritters to act, even if imperfectly. He was left a dangerous and volatile multipronged foreign catastrophe, which may not be resolvable. He has kept us from losing our sovereignty and constitutional rights to foreign treaties.

If he can even partially tame the taint, favoritism, theft and and corruption in congress, the obama-appointed courts, and the agencies, he could be one of the greatest presidents ever.

The writers on this blog represent everything millennials hate about boomercons and everything Vox Day hates about moderates.

Trump is a reaction, not an action. You are all just too old and too established to understand. Every time you rip on Trump it just screams "I don't get it, my 401k is up 25%."

I speak as a non-citizen and yet I thank the Good Lord every single day that the witch did not get the presidency and we have a President who truly seems to be what is written on the can (yes, even though I am not an American I consider this man my president too).

Keep him well to do his good work for the next 7 years.

Phew, we were so so close to disaster....
