Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Hollywood Wants Your Money...and Your Mind

A commenter: "Kill your TV and take a walk through the woods with your kids, spouse, friends and or loved ones."


We all know that TV and movies are aimed at an IQ of 100. That's the market. Even Tucker aims low.  A good life can be had by shooting the TV and getting out in the world, meeting new people, doing interesting challenging things - and going to Christmas parties.

Let's not forget Hollywood pushing unwed motherhood as a social and political agenda in "Murphy Brown," and how Vice President Quayle was mocked for stating his opposition. but how do you watch ESPN, and NFL players protesting their horrible life in a country they hate because of all the murders in chicago and baltimore, and their drug and battery abuse suspensions?

It's not just movies, but fiction too. I stopped reading most fiction because the sub characters were all liberal propaganda artists.
