We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Yes, he does...to the Haitian community who are now legal, permanent residents and citizens. Sorry, Zachriel, but these Haitians were here on a TEMPORARY basis. They knew it. There was no promise of citizenship or permanent status.

Trump let the Haitians down? I didn't know he or the US owed them anything. It's time for them to go home. If they wish to return permanently, they can apply like many others do. Their stay here was never meant to be permanent. All the more reason why such acts of kindness should be offered only rarely.

In 1992, Bill Clinton condemned Bush 41 for turning back those makeshift boats, and said he wouldn't do that. Immediately after his inauguration, an enormous number of Haitians took to the sea, believing him. Many drowned, including the father of our sponsored child at the time.

Keep defending these lovely people Zachriel. Straining at gnats and swallowing camels. Truly the Lord's work.

Nary a day passes that HRC doesn't say or do something that makes me thankful she did not win election in 2016. I pray that she will soon fade from the public sphere, though she seems thoroughly unwilling to do so.

Oh no! Journalists shilling for the democrats. When Kennedy was president journalists used to send their stories to the white house for approval. Nothing new here except journalists used to deny they were partisan hacks.
