We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Definitely be careful, but in my case I had hurt my shoulder shoveling snow (rotator cuff?). I rested for several weeks, but didn't see any improvement.
Tired of getting fatter, I went back to the gym. I was very careful about positioning, stopping or resetting at any pain, but went back to doing clap push ups again.
Started seeing improvement in my shoulder in a week. Got much better in just a few weeks.
I've sort of plateaued too. These have been my sets for the past couple of weeks:
35 - 30 - 20 - 15
The last 5 for the first two sets are slow. I'm trying to get to three sets of 35 (yeah, I know that's 105). Can't see my way to more than that number per set. Perhaps I just need to believe!
My original plan was to do “Fibonacci” sets: 1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55. Eg try sets of 8 until they’re easy and done with perfect form, then bump up to 13. I’m stuck at sets of 21. Can do 1 set of 34 but not perfectly.
Before the challenge, I was doing 2 sets of 25 every other day. I am still not doing every day since I lift 3 days a week I do pushups on nonlifting days. I do every set to failure, usually:1st set 45, 20, 20, 15. I will most likely keep doing them after the challenge is over. Once I establish a routine I stick with it.
I have been able to do only groups of ten, which I alternate with jumping rope 30 times. It does make for an efficient workout at lunch when I have only 30 minutes!

I'm with you Sam. I remember the "lift and seperate" ones and while there's a lot to be said for man made cleavage it's still a toss up.
I started late, Day 18 now. Doing sets of 20. I also started to combine sit-ups with this. Hey, if I am close to the ground why not just flip over and do the sit-ups as well. Don't need to go to the gym ever again.
