We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Reason has little to do with the firearms issue. I'm sorry, cutie, but The Second Amendment isn't about hunting and shooting sports. It's about freedom.
Can we please make murder illegal? It might help, or do the guns kill people? Can't we just Do Something?!?!?
Like virtually every other "well-meaning" gun-grabber/gun-(i.e., people-)"control" essentially-rabid-advocacy entity or group or, even, inDUHvidual in America (and, mostly, the rest of the World as well), the Brady Prog-Tards keep right on trying to sing that same, old, long-discredited tune: We need more laws/more restrictions/more INFRINGEMENTS on the law-abiding folks' inherent rights to firearms possession and usage...Sure, they talk about how they just want to help everyone; about how they don't wanna take away the "just-plain-folks'" guns - but, that's all it is...it's bullsh**; what they really want to do is just that, take 'em all away, whether "legally-owned" or not...
Sorry, that ain't gonna git it done..."expanded background-checks" are just more of the same old unworkable, ineffective, lying bullsh**...
Remember: When you insist upon always doing what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten.
What the hype about expanding background checks is really about is a national gun registry. Almost every oppressive regime in history forced gun registration followed by gun confiscation. The best way to do this is to require registration in a way that doesn't alert the citizens/serfs that you intend to follow it with mandatory gun confiscation. Today, in theory anyway, once your background check is completed the personal and gun data is deleted for the specific reason that the law is not supposed to facilitate a gun registry. The alt-left doesn't like this and would love to get this law rewritten behind closed doors to create a permanent registry.
She declared up front that she was a lawyer by training. But her use is apparently as a pretty face of gun control and not in the application of reason and thought on the subject at hand.
Do not for one hot second think that TPTB are not keeping the NICS " background check" data permanently. Guess how they know where and when the LV murderer got all his, pretty much instantly?
