We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

My more competitive students are going to love the adoption of Angela Putnam's "hard work = whiteness" doctrine; just another excuse for the slackers to self-select out of the job market.

As I listened to Boston's Howie Carr go on about this letter, my first thought was that it's a parody, it was so priggish and malicious. I mean I never saw this coming re Dr Suess, it is so outta left field. We have to come up with something more stinging to mock moonbats. I have to give her props though, this isn't your mundane poo flinging, this is elevated, maybe even creative, poo slinging.

Anti-Dr. Seuss librarian apparently wasn't always opposed to the supposedly 'racccissst" author.

Health care is a right. These doctors are trying to deny people their rights.

In fact, education is a right as well. What are those academics complaining about. When they are sex working and sleeping in there cars, they can be warmed by the knowledge they are supporting the rights of others.

I know an American doctor and ask my own doctors and dentists about our system. They love cash payers and complain, at length, about the ongoing regime of the communistic path health care in Amerika is headed down. I recently got a 60 percent (that's six zero) discount for paying in cash.

But like police of old who just wanted to help their neighbors these old doctors must be eliminated from the system over time to make way for the death panels. You see, in a single payer system, much like the police state rollout we're witnessing, we can't have people who want to help their neighbors

The cartoon and cited article both predate November 8, 2016. As noted, Dr. Seuss evolved in his views on race, as did most of the country.

The anthem protest began as a protest against America. Simple as that. It was intended to be a poke in the eye to all Americans. It was never about black thugs getting shot by police, that was the cover but it was really about kicking America in the nuts. Now that it hasn't gone very well for them they are trying to change the narrative to "equality" or "it isn't anti-anthem/America" it's just trying to get us all to understand how bad racism in America is, yada, yada, yada. That's all pure BS. The BLM movement is an anti-American group disguised as a civil rights movement.
