Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

So "manspreading" doesn't work to create a dynamite first impression?
I think it rather depends on the impression you wish to convey.
re THE REVOLUTION TURNS ON ITS BASE
The Frankenstein monster created by the Left, Political Correctness, has turned on its master. Who'd a thunk it? I think China and a number of other powers, Iran, Russia, maybe even Pakistan, are interested in the actual capabilities of the THAAD anti-missile system, and would very much like NK to continue to try to goad the US or Japan to attempt a shoot-down. There's a lot of doubt as to whether the system can truly intercept a target on a zero-notice basis.
Backlash against "refugees": The gummints are suppressing their people's opinions, and ignoring them. This will not end well.
Evergreen State Settles Lawsuit With Bret Weinstein and Wife for $500K of taxpayer money. That dough should be taken out of the paychecks of the Evergreen State admin, staff and faculty responsible for setting campus policy.
Don't be silly. We've warned you before about being logical, but there you go again. It will come out of disguised increases in student fees.
Trump is not selling out anyone. Pelosi/Schumer or NYT or any other media that tries to convince you of that is LYING. Trump already has said: wall will be built, does not support amnesty for DACA. Full. Stop.
How many times are you all going to parrot the sources that lie than the man himself? Next, Susan Rice is a liar multiple times over. The claim by Gowdy that she was truthful/honest during her testimony is just ridiculous. She picked the ONLY unmasking episode she could think of that was possible to spin in a positive way. I would like to know why the Administration didn't just ASK Trump why he met with this guy. Why in heck did they need to 'listen in' on Trump at all? He was the president-elect setting up his connections to world leaders, which is totally normal. The reason Rice gave was pathetic. She now admits she unmasked Trump officials...now the question is: what other instances do we have knowledge of besides this one? No way did she do this only ONCE. And for Gowdy to say he 'believed her' really makes me question Gowdy and his abilities to be shrewd and discerning when talking to someone like Rice. Fool me once, etc. I expect betrayal now, no matter who it is. I do not expect that anyone that gets to DC on a freedom and liberty ticket will stay true to his or her word. The differences between them all are only how long it takes to be turned.
That dude McMaster laid it out this weekend last, when he claimed that Bannon had a "narrow agenda" that was not in the nation's and the President's best interest. Well, McMaster, 63 million have already disagreed with you, and when you burn them by pushing another agenda more suited to war and empire abroad, and surveillance and propaganda and control at home, you'd better be ready for some blowback. It was the narrow swamp-draining agenda that was the winner. Re: picture
Thank God for the Cajun Navy! I don't recall a Black Lives Matter Navy or a Antifa Navy, or a Soros Navy, or anything like that from those insufferable leftist groups who spend their lives engaged in moral preening. Agree, the work the Cajun Navy and other boaters put in to save people was spectacular. Thanks to all who participated.
Reminds me in a very small way of the evacuation of Fort McMurray in Alberta last year. Fire came in fast, and a city of close to 70,000 had to leave NOW. It was done with only two deaths (two kids in a car accident), and on roads with flames on either side. That is probably the only city which could have evacuated so efficiently - with everyone employed (directly or indirectly) in the oil patch, that community had the training to know when to move NOW and in an orderly fashion. However, the Alberta equivalent of the Cajun Navy also turned up. People from communities to the south and west filled their vehicles with jerry cans of gas, water bottles, and other supplies, and headed TOWARDS the fire. They were instrumental in getting the convey out safely. "An Experiment Gives Cash Aid To The Poor. Is That Ethical?"
Eddie Murphy already made a move about this. It wasn't, and Mortimer and Randolph eventually suffered for it. |
