Hey! I resemble that remark! Actually I am neither a) nor b) nor c), but I have done my share of staring wistfully out the window muttering over a glass of wine, but that was mostly between January 2009 and November 2016.

I, too, have done my fair share of staring wistfully out the window muttering over a glass of wine. As of January 2009, I just stuck a straw in the bottle.

November 2016 I switched back to the glass, but there ARE days that long straw is tempting.

No, I haven't. Not ever. Does kinda sound like a good idea, but I can't do wistful, and I pretty much gave up on the alky in '87.

Don't give any information to the Equifax website, certainly not digits of your SSN. They've already demonstrated that to be less than worthless.

The only thing you can do is to freeze your credit, which can be unfrozen for a small fee when needed. That's on my list of things to do in the very near future, and to do it for my children also.

Agreed on not giving Equifax any digits of your SSN and freezing your credit. The linked article on how to respond to Equifax is better than many others but still wrong in many respects. I have put up a post on how to do it right.

I have been a GKC fan for decades. Almost all writers and thinkers of more than 50 years ago don't "fit" in the 21st C, though. That's why we must read them. It is the only escape from the tyranny of Current Events.
