We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Cool gal, but I do not believe a word of what she is singing.
As I don't speak French, that wasn't an issue for me. She could have been reciting a grocery list, as far as I am concerned. Very good singer.
"What normal gal does not want some Chanel in the closet?"
That would be moi.
I prefer mostly jeans of various colors and plain ribbed t-shirts for everyday, nicer slacks and blouses for community events, a couple of elegant dresses for formal occasions. I don't aspire to further sartorial frivolity - if one doesn't care for my looks, tant pis, n'est rien.
Though as a middle-class, Flyover Country, engineering degree, quit paying work for full-time mothering, current full-time caregiver to handicapped family member, plain-spoken, skeptical of affluent urbanites, Son of God believing kind of gal, you might not consider me "normal" in this day and age. Quel dommage.
