If this woman was seriously outraged, she lost her mind long before this and should be strongly cautioned about visiting any sort of civil rights museum where she might see things much more disturbing than a Confederate flag. But given her immediate instinct to post her reaction to her facebook page, I'm going with faux-outrage, the cry-bully tactic of the SJW. It's just sensitivity theater, an ongoing contest to see who can pretend to be the most outraged over the most silly thing. The proper reaction to the display is laughter and ridicule, not serious discussion. Taking such public displays of bed-wetting seriously only encourages more such displays.

If you really want her to suffer a meltdown, inform her that Canada (as part of Britain) supported the Confederacy during the Civil War, and allowed the Confederacy to use Canadian soil to stage raids on the Union.

Canada didn't exist during the Civil War; it was only formed as a self-governing dominion in 1867 (on 1 July, making it our 150th birthday next Saturday).

Feelings about the Confederacy were mixed in the various colonies of British North America but most were more sympathetic to the North because that was the portion of the US with which they had the most in common. Large numbers of Canadians served in the Union Army, but very few with the Confederates.

Confederates operated out of Canada clandestinely; the worst incident was the St Albans Raid of 1864. British authorities did not approve of such activities nor did they condone them.

It was distaste for the institution of slavery which ultimately put paid to any British/Canadian sympathy for the South.

"The Republican Health-Care Mistake"

Obama and the Democrats created a poison pill with the ACA. It was going to self destruct and Hillary was supposed to be in office and congress would replace it with a single payer plan. But Trump won. The ACA is still self destructing. the rent seekers are still seeking free stuff and the Republicans are too afraid and/or too stupid to do the only thing that can "fix" this mess.

There are essentially three options:
1. Reverse the ACA back to the way it was before Obama placed the poison pill in our health care system.
2. Do nothing. let the ACA self destruct and when finally enough damage is done by it that both sides are willing to fix it then it can be fixed.
3. Repair and replace with a Republican version of the ACA which by it's very nature will also contain a poison pill. This will absolve Obama and the Democrats of their evil intent and place that burden on the Republicans.

Knowing the Republicans (the stupid party) which choice do you think they will make?

The Founding Fathers were sufficiently intelligent to know one's health is a personal issue, so they did NOT include healthcare (not to mention healthcare insurance) in the list of rights. Forget politicians ever corralling this topic for their constituencies. Let's just start over with everybody paying cash for incidentals and holding a catastrophic policy for just that…catastrophes. And every one can figure out what compromises a "catastrophe" for their lifestyle. I don't know how docs got takes into this disaster.

There is a simple one-line fix for this situation:

"The Affordable Health Care Act is hereby repealed in its entirety."

The Supreme Court held that Congress did not have power to pass it in the first place, but even though they could not compel people to comply, they could "tax" them if they didn't. Pure crap. Just take the Supreme Court at its word and repeal the whole thing to confirm the federal government did not have power to do it in the first place.

The alternative would be to just let it collapse. But it has already done massive damage to the healthcare system, and it is getting worse every day.

So, tell me one district in the country where dumping money on "education" has resulted in better outcomes? Some districts with the highest expenditure per student are among the worst in the country---DC, NYC! While lower PS expenditure districts excel--as in Utah.

I won't even mention those home-schooled kids, who generally excel.

I would credit Bush as well for the Trump phenomenon. I was very very displeased with Bush. He had control of Congress and did nothing useful with it. He promised things that he never intended to follow through with: tax reform, social security reform, etc. He had the ability to do much of what Trump is doing now, and didn't even try. Then, much to my chagrin, he added an additional department to the government bureaucracy: DHS. Now, you can argue that DHS has a good basis for being created. However, I disagree. All Bush needed to do was create a new department in the FBI to handle such cases, and we would've been fine. Instead, he added to gov't instead of reducing gov't. Obama used the DHS for all sorts of things BUT homeland security, BTW. The last straw for me was the bailing out of banks in 2008...well, before Obama showed up. So, no, it's not all on Obama that Trump arrived....it is also the lies and lack of results on Bush's part - and I liked Bush at the time!

I can't argue with your points although I like Bush and didn't think he was even 1% as bad as Obama was for America.

But just for the record the "bailout" may have started in 2008 but the Democrat congress actually stopped it and held the money until Obama took office.

IMHO the bailout was a mistake. Don't get me wrong the world would have turned upside down without it but we would have then gone through the process of dumping bad investments and failing banks and we would have been in a correction after a year or two. We never corrected all we did was hide the problem. If we had fixed it the fed wouldn't have kept interest rates at about 0% for the 8 years of Obama. That bailout/non-fix is a ticking time bomb that is still out there. Our current good economy (since Trump took office) is not real it is the very definition of a bubble and it will burst.

BUT the bailout wasn't Bush's "fault" because every wiseman in the country was advising to do it and if they did not we would go over the economic cliff. If Bush or any president choose to not listen to all the advisors and crashed the economy they would derelict in their duty. The bailout was the fault of the FED and the experts.

What is funny about Bach is that his genius took a while to be recognized and when he died his sons were considered better composers. Bach was an incredibly prolific composer.

It is especially scary for our military and our national defense. If we don't keep up with technology we will be like the polish army trying to fight the German tanks with a cavalry charge. I can only hope we are trying to stay ahead of the curve.

There are drones and there are drones. I am not talking about the plane sized drones or non-ballisitic drones/missiles that our military uses. Your point emphasizes the issue of the unknown unknowns. I am talking about using very small drones with very small explosive charges or other lethal devices that can be sent by the thousands to attack a enemy. Something we haven't seen yet but is in fact a real possibility in the future. This kind of technology could be a game changer. Combine a drone, an explosive, and a intelligent controller that could independently hunt down and destroy human targets and it would be a formidable weapon. Imagine thousands or even tens of thousands of these drones being unleashed against a military force or even a civilian population. That is the kind of high tech use of drones that I am concerned with.
