We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Apparently, they have a LOT of time to practice not only rugby but also their dance! And that doesn't count learning the language they're yelling (at least to know what they are yelling!).
Seriously, that does seem intimidating but what I don't understand is why the other team either pays attention to it in the first place or why they don't come up with their own version and try to intimidate back or at least garner some crowd approval. The crowd seems to really get into it!
I saw this at one of my grandson's rugby games. While the other team did haka (which is impressive to watch), his team stood in a line with their arms draped over the boys standing on each side, deliberately looking bored. It was pretty cool on both sides.
