In the spirit of reality checking -
there is no evidence of a genetic/biological cause for homosexuality - no "gay gene" was ever found.

There is clear evidence - from self-report studies! that at least 1/3 of homosexuals were physically or sexually molested in childhood, and at least that number had traumatic/strained family relationships in childhood.

The pattern of dysfunctional behavior for homosexuals is also clearly documented - compulsive promiscuity, inability to maintain relationships, heavy substance abuse to mask depression unsolved by "coming out" and "being proud"... as if basing one's identity on dysfunction were ever a solution.

And it almost exactly matches the patterns of dysfunction seen in anorexics and bulimics - in all these cases, a natural appetite (sex. food) has been hijacked to cope with trauma.

The decision to pathologize eating disorders while celebrating homosexuality was entirely political - eating disorders jibed with the feminist narrative of toxic, oppressive male patriarchy, but the false narrative of "born that way" homosexuality is more useful to the Left as a way to undermine healty, sexual norms.
