We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
"Legalized marijuana turns Colorado resort town into homeless magnet"
NO, legal marijuana didn't create the magnet, the politically correct attitude toward these bums did. They are considered, by the "powers that be", as poor, homeless waifs, rather than the drug-addled bums and drifters they truly are.
Start enforcing the laws against panhandling and vagrancy hard and these filthy clowns would soon move on!
"GOP fears Trump will take the Republican party down with him"
No! That is McCain, Collins and Graham. The most devisive and least conservative Republicans who consistently pander to the craziest of the Democrats.
The Republicans have totally misused this opportunity holding congress and the White House. Their handling of Obamacare alone will probably cause them to lose half of congress in 2018. IMHO Democrats are devious and put their party interests ahead of the country and the citizens but Republicans are simply stupid.
I second your opinion. I would add Ryan into that list of names. The GOP power brokers are doing a bang up job of destroying the GOP all on their own. I have nothing but distain for them.
I disagree about 'losing half of Congress.' Why would conservatives who put conservatives in office pick democrats who are bound and determined to undermine the president?
That makes NO sense.
What does make sense? The RINOs or Anti-Trumper Republicans being primaried. I think THAT is what you will see. Pro-Trump citizens ousting the anti-Trump losers who aren't supporting the president's agenda that the voters WANT.
Yup. That's how Indiana took care of Ted Kennedy's favorite republican Richard Lugar. I didn't even care that his replacement lost the election as long as Lugar was gone. Uniparty members are the biggest backstabbers and provide no support and often join the opposition. No loss in getting rid of them by any means.

Many red states elect congressmen on a 52% to 48% ballot. Oh it could be 55% or even 60% but it is still a gamble and not a shoe in. But in these states typically conservatives will hold about 34% of the voters and Democrats about 42%. That means to win you must turn out all your own voters and a good percentage of undecided/independents. Between now and 2018 the Democrats will be trying to frame the events to switch these key votes. They will succeed to some extent. I would expect Republicans to lose 20-40 seats in 2018 and maybe the same number in 2020. And that assumes only what we know not the unknown. Another big crash and recession could make it all worse. Enough propaganda from the MSM and Democrats can sway voters. It's to early to "know" how it will turn out but I think Republicans will lose one or both houses of congress by 2020.

Regarding the phones. This week I'm at a conference for work and many of the vendors's personnel were more interested in their phones than potential clients.
In the interest of full disclosure, at dull briefings that aren't in my area of interest, I'm tempted, and fall, all too frequently, into checking out the latest offerings at Maggie's Farm and other sites.
