Trump media feeding frenzy

Media frenzy re Trump obscures frightening national security implications. Trump seems to have dangerous enemies, and they are in the US. 


Somewhat related,  This Russia Thing Can't Really Get Any Weirder -- Can It?:



 ... wait a minute!  Isn't the President specifically allowed to reveal classified information to other countries if he wants to?  Indeed, isn't that the very essence of being given the authority (by the Constitution!) to conduct the foreign policy of the United States?  Of course the President has that authority!  I would have said that the whole idea behind collecting classified information in the first place is to assist the President in conducting the foreign policy of the United States in whatever manner as he may see fit in his discretion.  And, while Russia and the U.S. may be geopolitical rivals on many subjects, the two countries certainly share an interest in preventing having their aircraft blown up by ISIS terrorists. (Recall that an ISIS bomb blew up a Russian aircraft over Egypt back in December 2015.)  Why wouldn't the President and senior Russian officials discuss this subject when they have one of their infrequent chances to meet?  And why wouldn't they share information to help each other prevent future attacks?


So what is it about this story that makes it news at all, let alone front page news?

This isn't anything close to Nixon in '74. Obama using the IRS as a weapon was light years closer and nothing was done. Please consider Gun Runner and it's inside the US brother program; Two AGs; the multitude of Constitutional breaches that no one in the media cared about at all. Obama spying on the Supreme Court.

This is not anywhere close.

Israel will now be much more careful about what it shares with Trump. His loose lips may have sunk more than ships, likely lives of Israelis under cover.

Russia supports both Iran and Assad, both of whom are mortal enemies of Israel.

Sure. The President has the legal power to give Russia the nuclear codes. In this case, the U.S. had been provided the information by an ally, promising not to divulge the information to a third party.

It wasn't simply a matter of having a discussion of the particular threat, but divulging specific information that would allow Russia to unravel the source. The intelligence community considers this a significant problem. Furthermore, it undermines confidence among U.S. allies that the U.S. can keep a secret.

So no law was broken IF Trump actually did what was claimed.

However a law WAS broken when this was leaked to the press. Lets find the leaker and put them in jail.

Also the press and the Democrats are putting our country at risk with this constant attacking the president and even Russia is laughiing at their stupidity and treasonous actions. Time for the press and the Democrats to decide it they are pro-American or anti-American.

I might add that the stock market is way down. This is exactly what the Democrats planned. They want Trump to fail and they intend to do this by making America suck again (like it did under Obama and Clinton). None dare call it treason but that is what it is.

Perhaps not, but the unplanned divulging of highly guarded secrets to America's adversary without the permission of the country which provided the information was foolish to say the least.

Allowing Russia press access to the meeting at the Oval Office, while barring the U.S. press, was also legal, but also foolish.

The Republicans have virtually complete control of the executive and legislative branches of the U.S. government. You can't blame the minority party for the instability in the U.S. political system.

No the Democrats and the MSM intended to reverse the good economy and make Trump look bad. It's not the first time that Democrats have sabotaged our economy for political gain. They don't have to control congress to do it they control the press (or the press controls them, it's hard to tell which).

The Democrats must create havoc to take back power. They must slap back middle America and commit fascist violence in our streets to take back power. The good economy cannot stand, Democrats don't get elected by Republicans having good economies. They must destroy us so they can take us over.

It's not fake news that Russian agents hacked into a major U.S. political party in order to interfere with the election.

OneGuy: who could give a shit less about the country.

Trump ignoring Russian interference in the U.S. election (as well as the annexation of Crimea, military incursions into Ukraine, and election interference in Europe) while cozying up to the Russians indicates he "could give a shit less about his country". As Trump is wont to point out, he won and that's all that matters.

Trump needs no help in looking bad. He is in way over his head, and doesn't have the ability or inclination to learn or change.
