We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Men will soon dominate women's sports

So much for Title IX in the US. SDA. One wonders why we segregate sports by sex anyway. Why not let the best people rise to the top?


As I understand it, psychosis is treatable but not curable.

Waiting for Kaitlyn Jenner to begin competing in the women's Senior Olympics. This is clearly her time and a big step forward for transgender equality.

So once again the left gets involved in a policy with good intent and it eventually becomes perverted, (pun intended), to the point of risking extinction. If you do not have the proper equipment below stay out of cross competing and go back to cross dressing. So tired of LGBTQABC...

And once again, the so called liberal left reveals its deep-seated misogyny. Gay rights, Muslim rights, transgender rights...it doesn't matter. Whatever the new group is, whoever they are, the women are expected to shut up, be accommodating, and go sit at the back of the bus.

Wish I could be surprised.

I have written, until folks are tired of reading it, that I'd rather an XX place fifteenth in the marathon, than have her medal in a segregated marathon. Same for baseball/softball: There will be no career MLB women until girls are no longer shunted into softball. Which, BTW, is a fine game in itself.

I don't get the point of sports, so my ideas may not be practical. But in wrestling and sports of that kind, they seem to do OK creating divisions to ensure that there's something like a fair fight. Do the divisions really have to be by gender? Couldn't there just be some kind of qualifying test? Whatever. I wouldn't mind if all the funding dried up for all of it. I'm also completely OK with funding only the stuff that has an interested audience willing to pay admission. Otherwise, it's a hobby. Why fund it at all, if the participants aren't interested enough to foot their own bill?
