Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Even if you do not enjoy ballet

PAUL TAYLOR DANCE COMPANY AT LINCOLN CENTER MARCH 8-26, 2017


The bonus is a performance of Merce Cunningham's masterpiece Summerspace and Martha Graham's Diversion of Angels. Cunningham has always been my favorite Modern Dance choreographer because the movements are so oddball and unpredictable. And I can try to put John Cage's "music" out of mind.

Pennsylvania Ballet has been doing so great things under the hand of the new artistic director, Angel Corella. He's quite a visionary and, frankly, I've been both surprised and amazed at some of the performances I've seen over the past two years.

The pic at the link astounded me. I have never seen such terrible form in a dancer in my life. Have a look at the opening pic here.

It seems to me that many disciplines have deteriorated since I first became an aware youth circa 1950
