Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I know Down's syndrome can show up in babies of mothers of any age, but when the mother reaches the age where the odds greatly increase there is a choice. That choice is to do something permanent so conception will not occur. Not having to make the choice of termination after a certain age we chose not to have to make that decision.
... from the article,
"better care and civil rights now leads to further suffering and travail for these loving, kind human beings." they're probably not either. Racism has always been a tool of the left. It is powerful and sparks emotion which translates into votes. Most of our domsetic problems can be traced to the left's use of racism to gain power.

He courageously opined, smartly confounding reality itself. NYT props up SNL's credibility for tribal reasons. It's like one clique making sure it's stars get elected homecoming queen, so that the others will still know they're inferior.
Yeah, I know, I see tribes in everything. You'd be surprised how often it just shows up as the explanation that best fits the facts, though. QUOTE: NYT thinks SNL is news It's in the TV section, along with Richard Simmons’s Disappearing Act Inspires a Hit Podcast, and a review of ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7, Episode 13. Proof positive you really don't understand the difference between "news" and "entertainment".
If your self-acknowledged deficiency in the English language improved, you'd understand. Kirby's BAR: Proof positive you really don't understand the difference between "news" and "entertainment".
Proof positive that you don't understand that articles in the TV section are assigned by the New York Times the news value of ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7, Episode 13. Q.E.D.
you are that dumb. do you know what the New York Times is? or what "SNL" means? these are serious questions, as you might not have either on your native planet.

Kirby's BAR: do you know what the New York Times is? or what "SNL" means?
The NYT is one of the oldest newspapers in the United States. Like most newspapers, they provide reporting on world, national and local news, along with politics, business, entertainment, sports, style, and the arts. SNL refers to Saturday Night Live, a live television variety program on NBC, a mix of music and satire. The article in question is with other articles about television programming, part of the Entertainment section. Are you saying that SNL doesn't have the same newsworthiness as ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7, Episode 13? QUOTE: it certainly isn’t news, except of the fake variety. Of course it's news within the context of reporting on television entertainment.

I'm feeling generous tonight, I'll help the silicon idiot savant artist z*.
The "TV" section of a newspaper reports on TV news: upcoming shows, cancelled shows, the faker's actor's latest misbehaving, interviews with fakers, producers, directors execudroids and media mavens, Nielsen ratings. In the TV section there are "reviews", which are critical discussions of the story arcs of the series. These reviews are never critical, because reporters know enough not to dirty their own nests. It's news when a particular show does something unique, interesting, surprising, out of character. In which case the reporters will summarize the interesting thing, and then speculate about what it means. Repeating in detail what SNL did is none of these. It's not news. It's repeating the stupid joke and gags, so that the "Trump=Hitler" "Trump=Russian stooge" and "Obama=Black Jesus" meme gets further pounded into the (sub)conscious of the people who have got better things to do than watch SNL. It's agitprop, and the Times does its part. Since the z* is just a filtered collection of millennial SJW inference rules and progressive imperatives, xi has no way of knowing any of this. All y* knows is, somezo somewhere on the Internet has called into question one of the holy progressive texts of the day, and countervailing narratives must be presented to preserve the constructed reality. ^Z is like a cultist zhoze only refutation to every question or comment is , "It is written in the holy proggro scriptures that ...". Sorry dood, you missed out. Zhu didn't grow up watching TV and reading the newspaper in the 20Cen which they ruled, so there are gestalts forever outside xi's plane of existence. John A. Fleming: These reviews are never critical, because reporters know enough not to dirty their own nests.
We listed ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7, Episode 13 simply because it was on the same page as the review of the recent SNL. So let's take a look: QUOTE: The lunacy of Richard’s scheme, along with the number of things that had to break just so — in order for Benjamin to get shot, so that Ezekiel would change his mind, for Morgan to come unglued, so he could bring Carol on board, and also get his stick back so he could kill Richard, and so on — eventually unsuspended my disbelief. Morgan’s motives for killing Richard may be explained later, but the rest of the Kingdom’s just letting him do it seemed beyond the pale. After several solid episodes in a row, Sunday’s was the first of this back half to try my patience. So the writer did criticize the show. John A. Fleming: It's news when a particular show does something unique, interesting, surprising, out of character. In fact, the NYT, along with many other newspapers, has weekly articles on the most popular television shows, including the 'Walking Dead'. Tribalism is good.
Affinity groups are good. Also good, sometimes meeting non-affinity group people. RE Moonbat: Can You Make A King Kong Movie Without Perpetuating Racial Undertones?
enough of the Moochelle bashing. "G-20 Poised To Signal Retreat From Paris Climate Deal Pledge"
Fortunately we are not a party, since Obama failed to have it ratified by Congress and pretended he could make it law by just signing without authority. And that makes it a rout and not a retreat. Laggards will be bayoneted.
The Paris deal was not an agreement, or even an agreement to agree. It was a statement of what they wanted to agree to if they could agree that they could agree.
You mean, like the Iran Deal.
But we would all have to agree it was another great accomplishment of former president Barack Obama . . . . New York to scrap literacy test for teachers.
If the test adversely affects hiring a certain racial group, it can't be used. That's why the supreme court outlawed the use of intelligence tests in hiring. "Will Pope Francis Allow Married Men to Become Priests?"
There are already some married priests in the RC Church. When portions of the Church of England and the Episcopal Church broke away and sought to join the RC Church, their married priests were allowed to be re-ordained as Catholic priests. I think that kicked the backbone out of the conservative Anglican Church in North America reformers.
The conservative Anglican Church was destroyed by a Trojan Horse attack in the form of lesbian priests. It was a cultural war and a lesbian takeover. Call them reformers or insurgents or cultural warriors it makes no difference they were there to destroy it.
RE ABORTION & DOWN SYNDROME KIDS
The annotation by Maggies says that soon there will be none. This "may" imply that Down Syndrome is a heritable condition - it's not. The incidence of pregnancies with Down Syndrome is unaffected by abortion (which only affects the births). |
