We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I think the "silent coup" thing is correctly described as "sedition", and I believe it is still a crime, though not frequently prosecuted. Freedom of Speech gets in the way and it's hard to separate out what is free speech and what is a crime.

At some point we'll need to resist and defend. How and when do we do that? Haven't faced this dilemma for 300 years or so.
The Democrats think they have another Watergate. The last time they were able to force out a sitting president who had won an election. This time, they are a minority in Congress and people are far less credulous.
