We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I bought a chance to to shoot a white tail deer at a youth church auction one time and it was on land once owned by Ross Perot. The land, lots and lots of acres was full of exotics from Africa and Asia and not too many white tail deer which I was allowed to shoot. There was also a nice herd of elk which I was not allowed to shoot but I spent a long time watching a lot of beautiful animals i could not shoot.
One of the interesting parts of the orientation was see the small high fenced very strong pen where animals would be held for several months until they acclimated to the smells, sights and I guess the location and I was told that it they were released into regular high fenced areas they might kill themselves trying to move to a different area.
While this is generally true it isn't completely true. First of all where a wild animal goes by definition they are their by intent and thus not lost. But secondly it is not uncommon that wild animals find themselves in the wrong place and are arguably 'lost'.
