We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
President Trump pledged his administration to being of, by and for the people, not for the pelf and comforts of self-anointed elitists or of those abroad who've excessively and selfishly exploited our wealth and generosity. The usual legacy network commentators, surprise, surprise, criticized that President Trump didn't echo their own, Democrat. wishes. Tough noogies!
That Trump's speech focusing on returning the government to the people was in anyway controversial is a marker for how far off our government has veered from its intended purpose.
Pelf! Thank you! The day was nearly over and I hadn't yet collected my new word for the day!

At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America, and through our loyalty to our country, we will rediscover our loyalty to each other.
When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice. The Bible tells us, "How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity."

and the only thing you read about it in the foreign press is how "shocked" politcians around the world are about the "dangerous hypernationalist" Trump (and similar statements).
