Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Re: The meteor that just slammed into the Clinton campaign thanks to the FBI
Interesting analysis. Scott Adams (pens the Gilbert cartoon) had an interesting take also: http://blog.dilbert.com/post/152531307171/james-comey-as-seen-through-the-persuasion Whether it is an actual meteor is something we won't know for a day or so - it may take till Nov. 9. At this point, the best we can do is play parlor games to make sense of what is happening like the Zman and Adams are doing. See also:

Who knows if it is a meteor or just a hail stone? Z-man's piece has nothing new. He has one good observation. If this is all as it appears, Comey's attack on Clinton better succeed or payback is coming. I don't get why everybody seems to be seeing this as Comey attacking Clinton. Couldn't this also be explained by the theory that somebody other than Comey was getting ready to leak the information that the FBI has been sitting on this for nearly a month and Comey more or less threw himself on the hand-grenade? Now this info can be dealt with as something the FBI is "looking into" (swept under the rug) and Comey - the same guy who covered for Clinton in the initial "investigation" - is now handling this "investigation" as well. Why is there any reason to think the outcome of this investigation is going to be any different than the first?
Hillary and her enablers see this as an attack on Hillary. I think most of the rest of us see this as Comey being FORCED to reopen the investigation because he saw that the new Weiner probe (no pun intended) turned up 60K or more emails that Huma blatantly lied about. No doubt some of them were smoking guns that Comey's FBI investigation couldn't find. It seems clear to me that Justice wanted NO part of indicting Hillary because doing so would clear the way for Trump to undo some of Obama's damage done during the last 8 years. So Hillary ALMOST got away with another act that would land you or me in prison for a long time. No attack, though.
Grown-ups’ new schemes to ruin Halloween
My kid and I were talking about this just yesterday because it seems some want to do away with trick or treating entirely and make it a "trunk or treat" where kids are supervised in a parking lot getting 'treats' out of the trunk of cars, from supposedly other people are on board with this. No one else seems to see the obvious effects of acting like disaster and destruction is just a footstep away on your kids? Kids must be on mood elevators by now, with the constant bombardment of 'climate change' hysteria and killing the planet and everyone is out to kidnap and rape and murder you paranoia. Of course a dependent population is easier controlled and why not just start while they ARE dependent. Oh my God, pumpkins have feelings. They are just as sick and tired of this election as the rest of us. November 8th can't get here soon enough.
Vote Trump, Hellary's one hot mess! State Pension Systems Want Your Retirement Savings To Bail Them Out
QUOTE: California Gov. Jerry Brown just signed Senate Bill 1234 into law, a bill that makes retirement savings accounts mandatory for any business with more than four employees. Instead of requiring businesses to offer a 401(k) plan through a financial services firm, the law requires a 3 percent payroll deduction with the money going to the state for safekeeping—unless the employee opts out. It’s estimated that 7.5 million private-sector workers in California will be conscripted into the state-run system. Money in government hands is flexible. Forcing private-sector employees to be part of state retirement systems will open up a flood of cash, delaying retirement system insolvency. Further, making millions of voters part of a state-run retirement system will force them to care about the financial health of those systems, potentially increasing public support for tax increases to boost their weak balance sheets. . . . On top of all of this, there’s one more predictable liberal step to come: taxing middle-class retirement savings in the name of reducing income inequality. On the eve of the passage of California’s forced retirement savings plan, the retirement board suggested that a 3 percent payroll deduction wasn’t enough—10 percent was the right amount. http://thefederalist.com/2016/10/31/state-pension-systems-want-retirement-savings-bail/ In case anyone hasn't noticed, Wikileaks is ramping up this week. I'm pretty certain that a lot of what is on the Huma/Weiner laptop may connect directly to Wikileaks. So far, things have only been confirmed by Wikileaks:
1) Suspicions about pay-for-play have been confirmed - so Peter Schweitzer's book is the truth and should be reviewed before you vote. 2) Suspicions about the DNC/HRC campaign colluding with the press also have been confirmed to be true. 3) HRC campaign causing violence at Trump rallies was in the Veritas videos and confirmed by Wikileaks. There are more, but those are the first 3 that came to mind. Do we really need all the info about Huma's laptop? I don't think so. The statement by Comey tells me that Wikileaks is telling the truth...and it will only get worse, as stated by Wikileaks team. The emails from Huma's computer will just confirm MORE of what we are already finding out. On top of that, we apparently have confirmation of Democrat voter fraud operations in swing-state Pennsylvania:
http://www.philly.com/philly/news/politics/20161101_State_raids_Delco_offices__seeking_evidence_of_voter_registration_fraud.html So Trump should definitely not concede the election if he loses, but should file legal challenges in every state where it looks like there has been voter fraud or vote rigging. Nothing has slowed the Clinton juggernaut in decades, why will this be any different?
Martin Luther was German, so why is the Pope going to Sweden. The door of All Saints Church in Wittenberg is where he is supposed to have nailed his "Ninety-Five Theses" on 31st October, 1517, and that's south-west of Berlin en route to Leipzig.
