Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Too busy to keep up with breaking news? I'll help. "The Wikileaks Bombshell You Never Heard About" by Paul Joseph Watson on You Tube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMzSh4lc35I#t=14 "Why did it take Republicans so long to realize Donald Trump is a mortal threat to their party?"
I was thinking about Samson collapsing the temple, but that's three countries away from the target. Fat, dumb, and happy is no way to go thru life, folks. It's NOT The Donald; it's all those Tea Party people and their ilk who were ignored or treated badly by the GOP as a whole. The Party treated their base as the Dems do theirs, and were fat, dumb, and happy. QUOTE: Hillary Advisors Admit She “HATES EVERYDAY AMERICANS” Quote mine. The adviser is saying Clinton hates the phrase "everyday Americans". Zachreil
Update your talking points immediately. You were not instructed to say that. The actual quote is "She hates Americans everyday." QuoteMime Hillary is venal, corrupt, a pathological liar, and generally a horrid person but Zachriel is right, clearly the advisor meant that she hated the phrase "everyday Americans".
To try to spin this as "Hillary hates everyday Americans" is to descend to her level. QUOTE: How Palestine got so many Arabs Y-chromosome studies show that Palestinians (through the male lineage) are indigenous to the region, and closely related to the Jewish population. In your continuing efforts to confuse, you substitute "region" for "Palestine" or "Israel". The article documents that most of those who now call themselves Palestinians are late comers, largely drawn by the relative properity created by Jews in Israel compared to the enduring poverty and corruption of whence the Arabs came from.
Bruce Kesler: In your continuing efforts to confuse, you substitute "region" for "Palestine" or "Israel".
What the study shows is that Palestinian patrilineage is right in the midst of the Jewish population. This is actually an amazing finding, because this includes Jewish males of the diaspora. Bruce Kesler: The article documents that most of those who now call themselves Palestinians are late comers Genetics contradicts that claim. Palestinian Y-chromosomes are more statistically related to Jews than to most Arab populations, though they are all closely related. You continue to try to confuse: Most of those now calling themselves Palestinians, historical residents of the land of Israel, are not but actually late-comer Arabs from neighboring countries, drawn to immigrate by the relative prosperity built by Jews compared to the ongoing poverty and corruption in the neighboring Arab countries.
Bruce Kesler: You continue to try to confuse: Most of those now calling themselves Palestinians, historical residents of the land of Israel, are not but actually late-comer Arabs from neighboring countries
Those that call themselves Palestinians have Y-chromosomes that are more closely related to Jews than to most other Arabs. See Hammer et al., Jewish and Middle Eastern non-Jewish populations share a common pool of Y-chromosome biallelic haplotypes, PNAS 2000. This seems to contradict your position. Perhaps you might address the genetic evidence instead of just repeating your claim.

You continue to confuse: Some ancient partially common genetics are not the issue. By that token we all come from a common "earth mother". The issue is that most of those now calling themselves Palestinians are recent immigrants to the land of Israel, seeking the better economics built by Jews there.

Okay. Done. It is plausible that Arabs with family to connections to Palestine have been more likely to immigrate to Palestine. In any case, nothing in the article addresses the genetic evidence. "The great tragedy of science — the slaying of a beautiful hypothesis by an ugly fact." – Thomas Huxley

Of course they are. It shows that the male line of Palestinians is primarily (though not exclusively) indigenous. Bruce Kesler: By that token we all come from a common "earth mother". All humans, all life, are related by common descent. However, they are not all at the same genetic distance. For instance, Palestinians are statistically closer to Ashkenazi Jews than they are to Saudi Arabians. The evidence indicates that Jews and Palestinians diverged in the late Neolithic, and given the overall distribution, they are indigenous. That doesn't mean there hasn't been admixture, but Palestinians, through the male line, have retained their identity.

You continue to insist on confusing: Most of those who call themselves Palestinians are recent immigrants from Arab countries, who moved into Israel because of the prosperity created by Jews. They may call themselves Palestinians but aren't. The ancient genetic similarities of some actual Palestinians is besides the point and meant to confuse and undermine the historical evidence of Jews in Israel that goes back thousands of years. You do this in order to create a false claim of ownership, as the BDSers want, "from the Jordan to the sea" that drives out or slaughters all Jews. You are a disgrace, even to the paid leftist trolls you belong with.

Bruce Kesler: The ancient genetic similarities of some actual Palestinians is besides the point
As the genetic data contradicts your historical narrative, that means you have to resolve the discrepancy, not merely wave your hands and say it doesn't matter. The fact that the Palestinian Y-chromosome is statistically more similar to Jews than Saudis or Egyptians shows that that Palestinians are primarily indigenous with only some admixture from these other groups. Bruce Kesler: and meant to confuse and undermine the historical evidence of Jews in Israel that goes back thousands of years. That's precisely wrong, demonstrating that you don't understand the data. The fact that Y-chromosomes of Jews of the Diaspora share strong similarities with those of Palestinians and other people of the Levant shows that Jews also have roots in the region. Imagine that! We have been discussing the Y-chromosome, which is a patrilineal marker. More recent studies have dealt with the whole genome. Blood Brothers: Palestinians and Jews Share Genetic Roots: Jews break down into three genetic groups, all of which have Middle Eastern origins – which are shared with the Palestinians and Druze.

And you go on continuing to try and confuse. The article is about how most of those CALLING themselves Palestinians are actually Arabs from neighboring countries who more recently moved into the land of Israel chasing the better economics created there by Jews. -- The article and the matter is NOT about whether some of those calling themselves Palestinians ( a term that did not exist either two-thousand years ago or until the 1970s) have some DNA that traces back thousands of years along with Jews. Most of those, even, are likely descendants of Jews who were forced to abandon Judaism by the Romans or forced to convert by conquering Moslems in the Middle Ages. -- Your efforts and those like you are meant to undermine the historical link of Jews to Israel, and substitute or place on an equal footing the current claims of those calling themselves Palestinians, and wanting to wipe out the history and current existence of Israel and Jews. -- Your insistence on avoiding the central fact by substituting an irrelevant issue is consistent with your usual tactics, and still transparent and exhibits your BS clearly.

It's as if you don't bother to read our replies. People calling themselves Palestinians have a genetic relationship of the Y-chromosome closer to Jews than to Arab groups. If Palestinians were Arabs that immigrated, then they would show a closer relationship to Arabs — but they don't. Bruce Kesler: Most of those, even, are likely descendants of Jews who were forced to abandon Judaism by the Romans or forced to convert by conquering Moslems in the Middle Ages. That is incorrect. The time of genetic divergence was about the time of the late Neolithic. See Nebel et al., The Y Chromosome Pool of Jews as Part of the Genetic Landscape of the Middle East, American Journal of Human Genetics 2001. None of this matters. All this is by play. One-and only one thing matters:
"As many as 40,000 Russian troops are massing on the country’s border with Ukraine – prompting fears of a new military invasion. Among the units deployed to the area are armoured vehicles, tanks and fighter jets." (August 2016) "Russia has amassed some 100,000 soldiers in occupied Crimea and Donbas as well as along the eastern border with Ukraine." (October 2016) "Russian state officials and government workers were told to bring back their children studying abroad immediately, even if means cutting their education short and not waiting until the end of the school year." "Amid escalating U.S.-Russia tensions, the Russian military said Tuesday it will co-operate with China on efforts to fend off a threat posed by the U.S. missile defence program." "At the end of last week, Latvia identified several Russian planes near its borders: Su-24 tactical bombers, Su-27 multipurpose fighters and an An-26 military transport plane. Russia also conducts military drills near Latvian land border. Two airborne divisions – 76th and 98th – take part in joint exercises with elements of full-fledged combat activities." There is nothing else. I don't CARE if Trump is a wholly owned subsidiary of Putin inc. War with Russia. Or not. Full stop. Period. We risk literal, GLOBAL THERMONUCLEAR GODDAMNED WAR over this shit. I dont care if Trump did ever single thing hes accused of evry day and twice on Tuesday. War with Russia. No war with Russia. step away. I will say it again, the Democrats wanted to push what they considered 'extreme' candidates. And those they considered 'extreme' were:
Trump Cruz Carson So please don't make it seem as if Trump was the only candidate they tried to 'elevate' in some way to get them to the top of the pack. The biggest mistake on their part was finding out voters did not see Trump as 'extreme' and that he is winning over Independents by a large margin and even Democrats. Trumpocrat group claims that they have 800,000 Democrat voters in PA who have pledged to vote for Trump on election day. Obama won PA by only 310,000 votes. You do the math. Even if HALF of those Dem voters vote for Trump, Clinton is toast. She is nowhere near as popular as Obama was in 2012. MissT: The biggest mistake on their part was finding out voters did not see Trump as 'extreme' and that he is winning over Independents by a large margin and even Democrats.
Before the Friday Access Hollywood debacle, but after the first debate, Clinton was leading Trump among independent voters by 46-32 (Quinnipiac). Clinton is garnering about 90-95% of Democrats, which is typical. MissT: Trumpocrat group claims that they have 800,000 Democrat voters in PA who have pledged to vote for Trump on election day. Clinton has been consistently leading in Pennsylvania. Have a friend who just got back from New York City where she was visiting her family. Just for fun, she asked lots of people who they were voting for. Mainly talking blue-collar types, since she's from a blue collar neighborhood and her dad was a fireman. They all said Trump, including the maintenance guy who came to fix the TV in her hotel room when it went on the fritz. No one admitted they were going to vote for Hillary. Some said they would have thought seriously about voting for Sanders, but would not vote for Hillary. Trump's "scandals" appear to have not made any impact, at least with those she was around.
Hillary is in deep, deep trouble, despite her controlling the national media. re: Willie Nelson for President yard sign
Back in the day...if you lived in Wisconsin you could always count on some write-in votes for Vince Lombardi or Bart Starr. Rednecks:
Had to wait with several other people while my car was being worked on. Turns out, I was sitting with a bunch of Deplorables, who were happy to be able to speak their minds freely. They were all your typical suburbanites; no one was toothless or illiterate, or oafish . I have fun telling acquaintances that I am a one issue voter. I don't tell anyone for whom I am voting. I tell them I am pro robust economic growth that reaches the regular every day people in the Middle. I have yet to run into someone who guesses I am voting for Clinton.
I vote for people who don't advocate women killing their children.
The most holy sacrament in the religion of modern feminism is the woman's right to choose. But of the women who I know who have had abortions, two-thirds of them tell me that they were coerced into having an abortion against their will by the father of the child or another male like their own father. In each case, the female WANTED to give birth to her child (even if adoption was the aim, rather than raising it on her own) but was forced into the abortion. I wonder if my experience in this is typical or not. If so, then the myth of empowered women using abortion to control their own destinies is a sick joke. Sad either way.
