The EU, of course, is a solution to the past. More precisely, it is what the Europeans wish they had done before the Great War, believing it would have prevented all of it. Like all solutions to past mistakes, it is wildly miscast for the present. That does not bother the Eurocrats. They are convinced their way is correct and they run forward, head down, into the block wall of reality. It is precisely this sort of stuff that led a majority of Brits to vote their nation out of the project, but facts and events play no role in EU thinking.

Why would someone raised in Gothenburg want to leave one of the most peaceful and progressive countries in the developed world to join a violent extremist group in the Middle East?

Because there is more to life than comfort. Humans are not cows.

This is not about Trump; he is just the vehicle. This is about the Middle being squeezed by those who game the system, the Takers and Skimmers at the top and the Takers living on subsidies at the bottom. We are top heavy with useless, fake, busy work jobs, that don't add any value and piggyback on the wealth created by others, while they undermine the abilities of American businesses to compete and innovate. Think of an upside down pyramid with the producers at the bottom. It is no wonder that the parasites, whose main claim to fame is being connected, are anxious.
Is there anyone left who doesn't realize the formerly productive people in the Middle, are dipping into the seed corn? There are no great long term solutions, even from Trump, short of reducing the American working person to the level of the third world workers, possibly inevitable. Anyway, if that is what you aspire to, you have HRC. Not to worry, I don't know if there are enough people in the Middle left to prevail, I guess we are about to find out.

There is no evidence whatsoever that money flowed from the Clinton Foundation to the Clintons. The Foundation is subject to annual independent audits, its financial records are public, and its donors are public (even though that is not required under the law).

According to Wikipedia, the bill was going to cost $20B. When Republicans balked at the price tag saying it didn't fit in the balanced budget agreement between Congress and the White House.

Obama made a huge mistake funding, supporting and arming ISIS and the other Islamic terrorist groups against the legitimate government of Syria.

That, compounded with our dissing of Israel and surrender to Iran and secretly giving Iran billions of dollars in various foreign currencies, flown in on pallets in the middle of the night, so they can make nuclear and conventional weapons is beyond comprehension in stupidity.

You can't even describe what U.S. "policy" is in the Middle East, because it makes absolutely no sense. I really want to know what the payoffs were to Kerry, the Clintons and Obama.

I would have said she was a good test taker, good at cramming and reciting facts, and capable of parroting the ideas of others. Not saying, she is not intelligent and glib; and these skillsets do have their uses. It just doesn't necessarily translate into originality, vision, deep thinking, quick thinking, problem solving, steadfastness, or a lot of other traits that manifest in leadership and accomplishment. Good Lord, it is not as if she is going to bring the country as a whole together.

If you tout a comfortable, secular, genderless middle-class society with no particular focus or point and devoid of much shared sense of cultural and historical heritage, you should not be surprised when your kids grow bored with their IKEA-catalogue environment and seek more exciting outlets to dissipate their ennui.
