So what gives, why is it different this time around? Are voters, en masse, actually seeing through the same ole, same ole that has been recycled and rehashed ad nauseum for decades? Millions, upon millions have been spent trashing DJT. It is no wonder that HRC is questioning why she isn't ahead by 50 points. It must be embarrassing for her. Are that many voters tuning out the media; I admit I haven't listened to or watched a political ad for a decade, well, with the exception of the NRA and the Energy ads.

As for fitness to be president, why would anyone find a glib wonk who reads and regurgitates white papers to be exceptional. They are a dime a dozen. You know the type; they are the college graduate who comes into Daddy's factory and screws things up because they have no idea how things actually get done or who does them. A certain level of intelligence matters, yes, but a wonk's skillset or even expertise does not necessarily translate into innovative, creative, inspiring, or accomplished. In short, a wonk is not necessarily capable of leadership, vision, problem solving, weighing risks, or executive ability.
It's been my experience that they don't necessarily get the big picture when they get bogged down in the details and over value minutia. I do expect a President to have a sense of history but don't care if the president can name all the provinces in China.
