Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Friday, August 5. 2016The problem The Week They Decided He Was Crazy - Trump inflicts one wound after another on his campaign.
At Examiner:
Don't blame the press. Press hostility is assumed. Don't feed the trolls, stupid. Always think before speaking. Generally, that's a good idea in life.

This is all ginned up nonsense. They are making up problems where there are none. They can't do anything else. A crying baby is a controversy? Are you kidding me? If that's a controversy, then the press should be all over the animal rights activists who freaked Hillary out yesterday at one of her highly orchestrated events. If that's a controversy, then the press should be all over the fact that Hillary has been ducking press conferences since 2015. If that's a controversy, then the press should be all over the walkouts last week during her convention and the boos from Bernie supporters.
But yet we are lead to believe that Trump is a mess and falling apart over a crying baby (which was a humorous moment) and a pretty decent answer to silly Stephanopoulos questions last Sunday? This is just ludicrous. And it also tells me how WEAK Hillary is going into the fall. She is SO WEAK that the press must generate fake controversies that are ridiculous and spin them into huge stories about Trump. Get over it already. Trump is fine. His rallies are positive ones with all the right stuff in them...no insults with the exception of the typical stuff you would hear about a political opponent. He is not talking about Khan. He is not talking about ejecting crying babies. He is 100% on message and has huge attendance numbers at his rallies. This is all manufactured crap from the press. Just like it's been since summer of 2015. I'll say it again - Trump has been the target of a concerted effort by the media to smear and destroy him. He has said some dumb things this week.
We also found about some criminal things Obama and Clinton did this week - a money-laundered hostage payment to the Iranians, and more bribery at the Clinton Foundation - but all that is swept under the rug. Exactly!
So why is the GOP shooting him down every change they get instead of supporting him? Because they're part of the UniParty.
They are no more opponents of Hillary than Snakehead is. Bingo. Their role as losing opposition has been lucrative and well worn by now. They're very comfortable with that as they advance their donors' agenda to strip away the middle class for the sake of ever cheaper labor.

They are bankrolled by the same people, the Gloablists, the Financialists, and multinational industries; the paymasters, who find the Middle an annoyance and an impediment.
If you prefer to preserve that which makes America unique. to preserve the Bill of Rights, to preserve American sovereignty, you only have one candidate. As for the election, it may turn on events.

It isn't just the press, it's the so called republican fronts that are on him as bad as the press. They are not on our side, since they didn't pick him they try and hurt him. Yes he does sometimes say unusual things but are any of them listening to the lies Hillary is telling the people and the things that probably aren't lies like about bringing in one million immigrants, probably all Muslim, in her first year in office. How about raising taxes on the middle class and so on. A lot worse than "get that baby out of here".
Oddly enough it seems that the 'dumb things' Trump says lead to interesting revelations about the subjects. For example Khan; We know now he worked for the Clintons, does not understand the US Constitution, is a scholar of Islamic law, helped rich Muslims enter the US, etc.
And strangely, Khan has credited Trump's missteps to Allah.
Now consider the reaction by Democrats (and the press) if anyone had attributed anything to God (Christian). It exposes the Democratic party's hypocrisy. So now the Dems will have problems using his speech in ads and such against Trump. Trump is the master at throwing out some rope and people take it up to hang Trump with and end up hanging themselves. Here's the problem though: if the press is out to get you, and you know they're out to get you, and they are going to ignore any nuttiness (for lack of a better phrase that could be similarly attributed to Mr. Trump), why give them ammunition.
The people that were going to vote for Trump come hell or high water before the convention are going to vote for him regardless. The people that were going to vote for Clinton come hell or high water before the D convention are still going to vote for her regardless. There are those of us who are utterly sick of the Republican establishment, but still support what the party as least once posed as standing for and detest the Democats as pandering, deconstructionists. I'd like to vote willingly for Trump, but good God in heaven he is making it well nigh impossible with his erratic behavior. He jumps out of the box and knocks the dirt off his cleats when the ball is coming right over the middle of the plate, but swings on the low and outside slider. So you'd rather have him hide from the press? Can you imagine how that would go over?
Please tell me what 'erratic' behavior you have seen? I have seen none. And don't point to individual quotes from Trump, please. That is the press's game. Watch entire interviews and rallies. Tell me what is 'erratic'? You are falling for the press telling you what to believe about Trump rather than listening and watching for yourself. He has been consistent and on message for months. The big stuff has not changed one bit. The only thing 'erratic' are the bizarre questions the press throw at him and don't care to ask Hillary. So what is he doing wrong?
Something. Rule of the game: No blaming biased press. Biased press is part of the challenge. I don't think he is doing anything wrong. That is my answer. Just because the press tells you he's in trouble and these phony polls are giving you outrageous numbers, you believe it all?
There is NO possible way that Hillary jumped, in some cases, 20 points after the DNC convention. Just ZERO chance. I could've believed a 4 or 5 point bounce. But 20 points? No. When I see people walking out of her convention and booing her, there is just no way she gained that much after her horrible convention. So Trump is not really doing that much wrong. What I'd probably have him do is bring up more victims of the Obama/Clinton Administration. I'd love to see Bill's female victims up there. I'd love to see more who were hurt by Mexico taking our jobs. I'd love to see more who lost children to illegals committing crimes. That's really what I'd tell him to improve. No, "rules of the game" have been only one side attacks and the other takes it. That has been a real winner, hasn't it? When now the side that has sat and taken its lumps returns it and goes on the offensive, it's "unhinged" and "unstable".
F that. Time for leftists to get an actual battle. See Scullman's post below if you haven't, as it raises a salient point.
This idea is not to hide from the press, but it is to frame the debate. This is something Republicans have a hard time doing - i.e. they allow themselves to be baited. Part of it may be some Stockholm Syndrome manifestation, "I want them to like me" while knowing they won't like me. Therefore, realize that any misphrased statement or attempt at a joke is going to be used against you. How was attacking Megan Kelly by implying her questions were a product of menstruation going to advance his position? As for the Khans, and the judge presiding in his case - that is why you have surrogates. The point is you personally attack when the jugular is exposed. Romney was milquetoast and did not have the wit to know when to strike and he had no surrogate to make the sharp responses for him. McCain wanted the "prestige" of having run, but was feckless as a Senator and as a candidate. Every response Trump makes is sharp and therefore it loses its edge with its repeated use and comes off as petty at best - because he's making every response. Would you want "Howard Beale" as president or would you want him as someone's surrogate who's running? The question is how do you force an American press rooted in Liberalism as if it were a religious calling, to challenge the obvious flaws and character defects in a candidate so weak and unattractive, that if she were a Republican she’d have been hounded out of politics by now.
This election is not between Democrats and Republicans. This election is between the Globalists and America. This is why Trump has thousands at his rallies and Hillary can barely get a couple of hundred.
It doesn't matter what Trump does or says or doesn't say. The media are smearing him because they are afraid he will win. God forbid we should talk about the issues, they are going full "Sarah Palin" on him. I have to say I am not surprised, but I am pretty disgusted with the so-called conservatives and Republicans who are wringing their hands and getting their knickers in a twist over a little rough and tumble. They are being played by the Left as usual.
We don't vote for President out this way (Territory). We don't even vote for electors who vote for Presidential candidates.
Soooo, not wanting to be out of the process, $200 has been contributed to Mr. Trump towards the success of his campaign. I do care about the outcome more than a 15 minute trip to the polls. This never Trump stuff and the outright support of Mrs. Clinton is just too crazy. The media is out there and I do hope he continues to play them as he has. Maggie's Farm is becoming more and more entertaining as we get closer and closer to the election!
