Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

The rebels were the good guys. I dunno, after Libya and Egypt....
the destruction of libya was hillary's work.
The eqyptian military saved eqypt from libian-like destruction. Eqypt was being destroyed by obama's promotion of the muslim brotherhood. Much of the turmoil in the ME is America's foreign policy which, since 2009, has been the installation of the Muslim Brotherhood into positions of power. Note: the MB has been called a "terrorist organization" by many countries of the ME.
Erdogan picked a war with Assad as he wanted the Syrian president to allow the MB back into the country after Assad's father had spent years deporting them and then banning them. Assad refused Erdogan's demands, so the combo of Erdogan and the present U.S. administration started arming "rebels" to unseat Assad's secular government which worked with all the religions represented in Syria, including Christians. The USA broke it and you can be darn sure The 0 and Hilarity won't fix it. Erdogan still wants to head the Caliphate. The Democrats will comply. My take on the recent #BLM "movement" bringing itself to lily-white Maine... Black Lies Matter Arrives in Maine
George Bush swaying to The Battle Hymm of the Republic: Nothing like Christianity and George Bush, to bring out the foaming at the mouth hate of lefty's everywhere.
QUOTE: The President’s Prejudices ...The {homicide} offending rate for blacks (34.4 per 100,000) was almost 8 times higher than the rate for whites (4.5 per 100,000). Which means the non-offending rate is 99,965.6 per 100,000. And that means if you assume blacks are likely to be dangerous, the rate of false positives will be very high. QUOTE: blacks tend to be “light-hearted, talkative.” Sure, and they like to dance, too. QUOTE: Yup, She's Crooked ...That's not true. Saying something not true is not the same as lying or even dissembling. For instance, QUOTE: Since a Romanian hacker named "Guccifer" had no trouble accessing her emails ... Is the author lying, or just mistaken. Frankly, he's probably just repeating what he heard in the right-wing echochamber, even though the facts can be determined from the very same testimony Comey gave before the House Oversight Committee that the author quotes. http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/286851-comey-hacker-guccifer-never-gained-access-to-clinton-server QUOTE: What does it matter? ... The fact is that black lives, like most other lives, don’t “matter” to more than a handful of people and never will. If the author wants to argue that he personally doesn't care, well, that's his unarguable position. The point of Black Lives Matter is the claim that society tends to undervalue black lives compared to white lives, in particular, that blacks are subjected to harsher treatment from police. If true — and there is substantial evidence of this —, then it certainly does matter. I have seen no evidence that BLM cares one wit about all the blacks who are killed by other blacks. They do nothing to protest that and don't allow anybody to bring it up.
There is evidence that some police departments may exhibit bias in the use of force, but not shootings (http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/12/upshot/surprising-new-evidence-shows-bias-in-police-use-of-force-but-not-in-shootings.html?_r=0) which is a their main contention. When they aren't chanting "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon", some are still chanting that lie, "hands up; don't shoot", and some want federal charges against George Zimmerman - even though the DOJ found insufficient evidence to charge him (http://blacklivesmatter.tumblr.com/demands). They are thugs (http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-kirchick-gay-pride-black-lives-matter-20160705-snap-story.html, http://www.theamericanmirror.com/agitators-hurl-rocks-phoenix-police-chant-shoot/, http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/bernie-sanders-event-shut-down-black-lives-matter-activists), and they are anti-police (http://www.bizpacreview.com/2016/07/13/black-lives-matter-has-list-of-demands-including-one-big-one-as-they-block-minneapolis-freeway-364575). mudbug: I have seen no evidence that BLM cares one wit about all the blacks who are killed by other blacks. They do nothing to protest that
We have seen no evidence that the organizations in the fight against cancer care one wit about all the people who die from car accidents. They do nothing to protest that mudbug: and don't allow anybody to bring it up. You just did. mudbug: There is evidence that some police departments may exhibit bias in the use of force, but not shootings So you agree there is racial bias in the use of force by police. The study concerns shootings per police stop. As blacks are stopped by police much more frequently, they are three times as likely to be shot per person. For instance, Philando Castile had been stopped by police forty-six times. He was only shot to death ≈2% of the time. mudbug: They are thugs As Black Lives Matters enjoys strong support in the black community, it means you are essentially calling most blacks thugs. Re The Turkish Coup
Some interesting links: The cleric being blamed for Turkey coup attempt QUOTE: A lawyer for the Turkish government, Robert Amsterdam, said that "there are indications of direct involvement" in the coup attempt by Fethullah Gulen, a Muslim cleric who is living in exile in Pennsylvania. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/A/AP_EXPLAINS_TURKEY_MUSLIM_CLERIC?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2016-07-15-22-59-53 Hillary Clinton Has Received Donations From Gulenists QUOTE: A former president of the Gulen-linked Turkish Cultural Center, Ozkan gave between $500,001 and $1,000,000 to the Clinton Foundation in recent months, the charity’s website shows. He also served as a national finance co-chair last year for a pro-Clinton political action committee called Ready PAC. http://dailycaller.com/2015/11/22/followers-of-a-mysterious-turkish-islamic-cleric-have-donated-heavily-to-hillarys-campaign-and-family-charity/ U.S. lawmakers got suspect Turkish campaign cash QUOTE: A Turkish religious movement accused of illegally financing congressional travel abroad may have also provided hundreds of thousands of dollars of improper campaign donations to congressional and presidential candidates during the past several years, a USA TODAY investigation has found. USA TODAY has identified dozens of large campaign donations attributed to people with modest incomes, or from people who had little knowledge of to whom they had given, or from people who could not be located at all. All the donors appear to have ties to a Turkish religious movement named for its founder, Fethullah Gülen. USA TODAY reported last month that the movement has secretly funded more than 200 foreign trips for members of Congress and their staff. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/11/20/lawmakers-got-suspect-turkish-campaign-cash/75982732/ The rebels this time don't seem to have been the good guys. They were just as Islamist as Erdogan, perhaps more so. Erdogan has been planting Islamists in the Turkish officer corps. It may have backfired with the coup, or the coup itself might be false flag as speculated. I think it backfired, but Erdogan is using it to consolidate power as if it were a false flag.
If the coup had been an attempt by the secular ganerals with support of the whole top of the Turkish Army, it would have succeeded. It appears to have come out of just one Army division. And didn't have support of the Navy. |
