We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Keeping it simple. I am grilling burgers and vegetables (Sicilian-style) on charcoal. Tater salad from the market because I am lazy. Rhubarb crumble with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Iced tea, beer, wine. I think I have some sparklers in the closet, for the kids.
This is a hymn tune, but he added a bridge and did some very interesting things with the chord structure. Different words, too, of course. His version always been a favorite of mine.
Simpler: We're providing takeout fried chicken. Three nearby kids (AARP-eligible) are coming over with all the other stuff. None of the grand or great-grand kids. They won't stay long - they're getting old too.
