We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
This is great info. We fitness nuts eat one or two daily, just with a little salt or hot sauce on 'em. An easy wholesome meal if you make 10 at once and put them in the fridge.
A hard-boiled egg or two with hot pepper jelly on them is a perfect breakfast after a morning hour of moving heavy weights.
None of this is necessary folks..... Want hard boiled eggs that peel with ease ...... Fill your pot of water..... Bring to a boil..... THEN AND ONLY THEN .... Carefully submerge your eggs in the boiling water and boil for about 12-15 min..... Then immediately rinse under cold water and refrigerate.... That's it.... There is science behind why this method works.... See Cooks Illustrated....
I love hard boiled eggs except that I don't boil them I bake them. 325° for 22 minutes. They come out perfect every time. Very fresh eggs do not peel very well. Older eggs work much better. I have found that if I buy them from the farm they don't work well. If I buy them from the grocery store they peel just fine. nothing like an egg salad with a couple of hard-boiled eggs, a spoonful of mayo, a spoonful of mustard, and a dash of cayenne pepper or Tabasco.
We put our fresh-laid eggs on the bottom of the pile in the fridge, and boil the ones from the top, which are a week or so old. Much easier to peel them.
