We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
”Initially, Laura had written that “there were no people. Only Indians lived there.” When someone protested to Harper in 1952, she was quick to admit the “stupid blunder. . . . Of course Indians are people and I did not intend to imply they were not.” The definitive edition now reads: “There were no settlers.”
funny, since Indians commonly refer to their tribe as "the People", and outsiders are given other names. for example, the apache call themselves "Inde" (People), "apache" might mean "enemy", a name given to them by other tribes.

It's a shame CBC used this as inspiration to create Little Mosque on the Prairie. None of the muslim characters are played by muslims (one thinks that would be 'haram' to them)
