Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Re: Trump calling terrorism as cause of Egypt Air tragedy. I see Donald Trump as perfecting politics by bringing strong, unpalatable dose of realism into the domain of ideologues.
Well, there's not many other reasons for an adequately maintained jet to expeditiously self-disassemble in mid-flight.
Then again, maybe someone called it the wrong gender and it went all to pieces... Hmmm . . .
I am glad The Donald has the cause of the crash solved. If he is this fast with airliner crashes just imagine how quickly he will be able to solve America's problems. Shouldn't take him over 6 days to fix everything, what? I guess they are not going to reuse the spark-in-the-fuel-tank cause as in TWA 777 or 'poor maintenance' as was the cause of the airliner that fell out of the sky over Brooklyn some years back. Has anyone claimed responsibility for a bombing? Why would terrorists destroy a Muslim airliner? Are they so stupid as to blow up one of their own? zu feeblemind:
Not every crash is the result of a terrorist attack. The NSTB and the FBI after years long investigations concluded it was not terrorism, your wish need to believe otherwise notwithstanding. TWA flight 800 exploded probably because of a short circuit outside the center wing tank that cause a spark in the electrical sensor system inside the CWT. Actually the cause of America's problems is pretty easy to identify, it's just the government has been consistently lying about it the last 8 years and the press follows suit. You can start with Obama and move down from there.
I understand there was a shooter at the White House today. The good news is the president wasn't there, because as usual he was out playing golf. Now that comment made me laugh. Thanks.

"Federal Judge Issues ‘Extraordinary’ Order Sanctioning the DOJ"
I read the judges comments and while I agree with his choice to not throw the case out I disagree with the light punishment. As I understand it for a lawyer, especially a DOJ lawyer to blatantly lie to a judge about serious and relevant facts in a case it is the worst possible act they can commit and completely unforgivable. These lawyers and their supervisors should have gotten jail time and disbarred at the very least. I agree that the response was pretty weak, but according to the article:
QUOTE: The court did not have the power to disbar the individual lawyers who made the misrepresentations, but it did revoke their permission to appear in the case. I don't know if there were a stiffer penalty - if so, I think it should have been used, but the thought occurred to me - what if the DOJ kept lying and ran through all their lawyers. I guess they would have to forfeit - but that never seems to affect the government. Pre-school anatomy class: This is a picture of a penis. When you see a person with one of these, it does not mean they are a boy. They might have been born with a penis, but identify as a girl, so do not be alarmed or make genderistic comments or judgment when you see a female-identifier with one of these in the girl’s bathroom.
I've been puzzled by the whole bathroom thing.
If J. Doe exposes he/she/it-self to someone else against their will, it's indecent exposure and J. Doe goes to jail. But if it happens in a public restroom, then it's okay and anyone who complains is a hateful bigot. For the longest time, I thought that didn't make any sense, but now I see it's about creating a safe space for exhibitionists. They need to be able to express themselves after all. Let's not forget pedofiles. After all, that's just another sexual orientation.
Think about it. Poor man's smart bomb.
QUOTE: Rather than recruit a suicide volunteer to drive an explosive-laden vehicle to its destination, a terrorist group could program a smart car instead. It is not clear if the self-driving car designers are looking at the malevolent use of this technology, but it has the potential to drastically change the nature of future threats to our homeland. There are discussions about adding self-driving big rigs to the highways as well, but then the potential damage could be increased by orders of magnitude. Imagine the risk to our infrastructure such as bridges, tunnels, and other critical facilities. It is unlikely that state and federal governments are looking at this threat, since the tech giants are quite cozy with our political leaders. One hopes that someone, somewhere is looking at this technology to find some way to prevent this scenario from happening. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/05/a_selfdriving_car_in_the_hands_of_terrorists.html RE NYC Mayor wants to fine businesses who don’t use transgender pronouns such as “ze” or “zir”
