We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I have noticed that instead of the protests ramping up since Chicago, they have gotten less intense. California is very left-leaning, so this is the worst it will be. They are not scaring him or getting him to change his message. His percentages only grow. Their protests are not working. Eventually, it will be pointless to show up. Trump couldn't care less about these guys. In fact, he made a big joke of the whole affair once he started speaking.
This was not some spontaneous demonstration against Trump. This is the left wing rent a mob that the Democrats hire every time they have a tight election. The Democrats haven't really changed since they organized the KKK. They are a racist hate mob who will use violence to get what they want. The MSM will cover for them.
He had me at the Pope saying he couldn't be a Christian. This is the same pope, mind you, who said you don't have to be a Christian to be saved. Please tell me more about liberals being the tolerant ones. It's hard to hear that over their screams to shut him up.
Remember all that talk about how some right-wing racist would assassinate the Chosen One? Where is the hand-wringing that a left-winger will kill the guy they don't agree with?
It isn't really that I like Trump a lot. It's that I want to annoy those that have a visceral hatred for what he says. That and I want them to lose.
This is the strategy the left used that resulted in the election of the unpopular Richard M. Nixon. I hope they keep it up through the election.

A good account of the Trump rally in California this week. The most interesting part ?
As noted, the most interesting part of the rally proved the demographics: it was probably 60% women. Lots of minorities as well, plenty of people holding "Latinos for Trump" signs. It was a good mix of African-American, Asian, White, and Hispanic--everybody got along well. Over the loudspeaker, we kept hearing somebody saying over and over that if we saw protestors in the crowd, please do not touch them or say anything to them, just alert security by yelling "Trump! Trump! Trump!" Initially, I thought this was ridiculous, but it worked. Random protestors would get in with the rally crowd and start yelling, and folks would shout, "Trump! Trump! Trump!" The very efficient security personnel would escort the protestors out. No violence.
