Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Umbrian real estate for sale


You can truly be Lord of the Manor with this pre-Medieval/Medieval estate in beautiful Umbria, not far outside the cute hilltop village of Todi. Owned by the same family for over a thousand years. It is for sale. (h/t reader)


Plenty of space for servants and house guests. Has its own olive grove. Defensive walls fully intact and ready for Islamist invasion. In fact, this place probably fended off Muslim attackers and invaders 1000 years ago. Saracens, they called them then. They came to rape, plunder, take slaves, and to colonize when possible.  Every Islamist invasion in Europe ultimately failed, until today.

When you look at it in terms of price per square foot of building or price per acre of land, it isn't a bad deal at all. And when dealing with subsequent Muslim-Christian conflicts in Europe, a castle sounds like a good living arrangement.

Mr. Sippi'd likely enjoy an Italian vacation if he were paid to work on that. He'd likely be intrigued by what's there, what's not there, and then write a magnum opus on it. Mr. Sippi can fix stuff, and boy!, he can tell us all about it with his patented excellent writing.
