We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The US education system on display! It's one thing to be for a socialist - even if they couldn't name a successful socialist country - but these kids don't even know why they're for him. It makes you want to cry.
Please tell me this isn't the "best and brightest" your country has to offer.
"Women and Gender Studies". And to what type of life-long career does one apply this degree?

The good news - relatively speaking - is that no, these are NOT the "best and brightest" - more like among the "(currently) dimmest and least-knowledgeable"...
The bad news is: Most (if not all) of them are of voting age, and some of them are not only registered, they will - in fact - quite readily vote for someone like Bernie Sanders or - just about as bad - Hillary Clinton, due to being pretty dim about how life and politics actually work, mostly abysmally ignorant about pretty much everything having to do with anything except themselves - and even a lot of that - and lacking any useful idea why trying to navigate through life on "magical thinking" is a really, really bad way to go.
Further bad news is: Altogether too many of them will get chronologically older without noticeably improving in any of these aspects - and will therefore continue to do damage to the basic concept of "One Person, One (Informed And Responsible) Vote".
Just one of the fearful-making aspects of the future of our badly-tattered Republic, but one of the relative-biggies...
These people used to be harmless because we didn't let them run anything. What they are looking for is the same thing as the scarecrow, a diploma. Education is actually quite free with opensource, etc.; it is credentials that are costly.
Gives the lie to those who have been stumping for more and more education. Who could foresee that the easiest path to an easy career for 'sixties layabouts would be into teaching, especially "higher" ed? And if anyone did foresee the leftist takeover of non-STEM colleges, who were they? I dimly remember dissenters from such orthodoxy, but can't recall their names. Must be getting old.
I was guessing based on the way the video was presented, it was more of a joke to make fun of their lack of knowledge about Mr. Sanders or his policies. And as you said, it looks like anyone can get into a university in America.
Obviously Fox News intentionally picked out these particular students to make a point. But the fact these students would be willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a seemingly useless degree is telling in itself.
I wouldn't be too hard on them though. Let them enjoy their ignorant bliss as the real world, after graduation, will cull them out soon enough.
I hear McDonalds and Wall-Mart are always looking for good people.

In the past, I have talked to students who attend the elite schools in the boston area....and they sound an awful lot like this bunch.
But recently, I have been talking to 50 plus who vote and also sound an awful lot like this bunch.
