Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Friday Morning

The cost of liquids in my neighborhood:

   Whole milk: 4.75/gallon
   Poland Spring bottled water: 2.79/gallon
   Regular Shell gas: 2.91/gallon
   Ballantine Ale: 7.67/gallon

In my neighborhood, you can save a lot on milk by buying it at the Mobil Mart (between 1.99 and 2.75 a gallon, depending on the season). Of course the beer is way too expensive there, but the gas is 2.79.

Just returned from Puerto Rico where beer and gas are both much cheaper because they are not taxed. Very nice.
