Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Remembering Pearl Harbor - How Hitler lured a reluctant America into Europe’s war

Unmentioned was that the shooting war had already started between Germany and the US over the North Atlantic convoys and that Hitler might have seen the chance to expand the war to US territorial waters as a way to shorten the war against England.

As for Japan, FDR was doing everything possible to start a war in the Pacific, that the war started for the US in Hawaii was the result of a monumental error of judgment by FDR and the Navy.

Reviving? That would mean that their image on defense or terrorism had become positive since the '80s. I dispute that. The Democrats, on the whole, have been reluctant to engage in any active role in our country's self defense regardless whether you're considering outside or even domestic crime threats
