Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

re Secretaries of Defense.
Heh. They could be mistaken for ordinary secretaries. One wonders what the likes of King Charles XII, Harald Hardrada, or Otto von Bismarck would think? Could be a pic of The View cast if you diversified it a little.
Commenters are picking up correctly that it is not merely that they are women, but a particular sort of women. If they were Maggie Thatcher or Golda Meir we might speculate that the Russian could be in for a nasty surprise. And that could still be true of any one of the four, who just happens to look against type.
But the four together? The odds are that our initial impression is spot on. Hell, Hillary is a liar and a narcissist, but their problem is not her problem. Progressive Remedies
Poor people sometimes benefit from owning a pet. My uncle Letsgo Lozko, he raised bantam chickens, he was never upset or dysfunctional. He said he owed it to having a flock of chickens. He was always ready to give a healthy live chicken to any poor people he came across. One time we took his International Harvester pickup around the ghet toes and tossed out live hens for any to claim. It has been noted and recorded in the Blue Island Bantam Gazette that people seemed more happy with a chicken under their arm. Pets can do amazing things. It gave folks hope. Kirk's line in a movie;"That's the excuse they usually give for evil. Hitler was mad they said. So he may have been... but not necessarily. Evil does exist. evil IS. " Him and Obama, saves time looking for other motivations that may not be there. "Obama's Corrupt and Immoral Abuse of the Military"
Obama has taken the world's most capable military and emasculated it. It is unlikely that we have the capability to stand up to any real challenge around the world. It would be impossible to do as much harm as he has without intending to do so. Simple incompetence wouldn't explain it. For whatever reason (treason) he has intentionally reduced our military capability to the point where we may not be able to fight a conventional war. I have always said that Obama was the Manchurian candidate and I still believe this. He is a post turtle; a puppet and we don't know to this day who pulls his strings. Our MSM choose not to vet him and worse to publicly excoriate anyone who did try to vet him. Why the complicity? One answer is the same people behind the curtain pulling Obama's strings are controlling the media. Remember, you're not paranoid if they really are out to get you.
Hard to see what the Progressives have to gain by destroying the military, the hard shell that is protecting their soft gooey center. Maybe they are just stupid. A group of middle-aged whites in the U.S. is dying at a startling rate
Women and minorities hardest hit. Dead men don't produce taxable income. Well, young minority males were the canary in the mine of the new economy and the skills people will need. I don't have a metaphor for what comes next after the canaries, but middle-aged men without sufficient education (a proxy for, but not an equivalent to, lack of skills) may be the next to lose out. They were likely also raised with self-expectations of how they should perform in life to be valuable. So - poor job or no job, no longer a custodial parent or all that necessary to your children because they can receive support elsewhere, or, somewhat better, have now grown up and gone out on their own. Drugs and alcohol readily available.
Walking nearer the edge of the cliff, as a group. Not really a surprise when you realize the economy is still only operating at about half the level it was when Obama came into office, and that real unemployment is somewhere around 24%.
And basically, Obama screwed the middle class to pay for everyone else's goodies. Am I crass to not be that upset about middle-aged people dying at a higher rate than normal? That means less old folks to pay Social Security benefits and fewer old folks on Medicare. Maybe that means I'll actually get something from both systems when I retire after all...
If you feel that strongly that our deaths are important you could shoot us.

Perhaps you could adjust. My dad retired at 92 and wished he had retired earlier. Why do people think retirement means inactivity? It means choosing whatever activity suits you, without having to consider whether someone with property to spare cares enough about getting it done to pay you to do it. You can do something to please yourself. You can do something to please someone else who can't pay for it, if you prefer that. You can even choose to do something that someone will pay for, but you can change your mind about it as often as you like, without having to worry about missing a paycheck.
All it takes is imagination and inner direction. |
