Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

RE: Michelle Obama Denounces Museums and Concert Halls as Racist
I read "New Whitney" as "New Whitey". ... best take the day off. Co-ed troops? The bar can't get much lower here in the US. Some countries incorporate military training in teenage years for males and females.
"These women will pass, and probably be honor grads. "Sounds like command interference to me”...[plain old dishonesty to me if they did not earn passing grades]. This does not surprise me. The General’s Boss most likely told him (Miller) if you want to make three stars, there will be female Ranger graduates! So he Santa Claused them so they would pass. Sad times. This PC BS will be the end of us, if it hasn’t already sealed our fate." http://www.armytimes.com/story/military/careers/army/2015/07/10/three-women-third-try-pass-darby-phase/29968107/ "After three tries, the three women remaining in the Army's gender-integrated assessment of Ranger School have successfully completed the Darby Phase," officials said Friday. The women, along with 158 male classmates, will be moving on to the Mountain Phase Saturday in Dahlonega, Georgia. . I don't know. Lots of my female ancestors fought to settle this country, then later in the French and Indian Wars, the Revolution, the Civil War and for Texas independence, and all the time battling whatever odds on the frontier going West.
Or, maybe it was the time I grew up, hearing first hand about the brave women who fought alongside my grandfather, father and husband during WWI and II. Also the sabras of Israel and then classmates in Vietnam. They had no choice as they were on the front lines during wars when there were no front lines, much like today when the Kurdish women protect the front lines alongside their men. I've met many of the women my son-in-law, The Colonel, has trained. They kick tail. I have no doubt about the ability of women and men to be tough and rise to the challenge. My mother and grandmothers were strong women and history is full of strong women. But it does not change the physiological differences between men and women. If you took the first 100 teenage boys and the first 100 teenage girls to graduate from a typical high school in America and tested them with a typical basic training or actual war conditions I would bet 90% of the boys would pass the challenge and even enjoy it while 100% of the girls would fail. Maybe you can find the occasional female recruit who can make it through the really tough training and even tougher combat situations, but if you were an intelligent logical person why would you even try??? If experience and history shows that 90% of men age 18 can do the job and less than 1% of 18 year old females can do the job why would you expend any energy and time to cater to the female combat agenda? This cannot end well. It will result in battlefield losses and more deaths of our soldiers and for what? So we can appease a few radical feminists. It would make more sense in my opinion to open up the NFL to women; more women linemen (linewomen). At least then it would be on TV and everyone could see the obvious problem with such a stupid idea.
My advice to the military would be females only as medical personnel, period. jma: All true. Back in the old days men and women were wired differently. They were strong, courageous, willing to do whatever was necessary to win the wars and settle the land.
A case could be made for the males in military as well. There are shortcomings and bar-lowering with them too. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of military men and women that are good enough and tough enough. It's just that standards of acceptance have lowered. I've noticed it in Law enforcement and Fire Departments as well. Lowering the bar is wrong, for race or gender or sexual orientation or weight or whatever. Giving in to special interest groups is giving in to losers. Even the generation that won the World Wars were tough enough. Men went off to war and the women stepped up and worked the factories. . To that viewpoint, this morning on Pritzker Military Presents, a TV series based out of its library in Chicago, Kenneth Davis, author of "The Hidden History of America at War," addressed the stories of Daniel Boone who led families through the Appalachians to Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and so on. He noted the hardships facing those people who ran from stockade to stockade for protection from raiding Native Americans. He concluded that the men and boys seemed to have much fun brandishing their guns and dirks, while the women sweated out the details of frontier life.
http://www.pritzkermilitary.org/whats_on/pritzker-military-presents/kenneth-c-davis-hidden-history-america-war/ After the last several years where our leadership has used divide-and-conquer to cram decisive laws and precedents down our throats that encourage us to battle one another, we certainly need to commend any who rise to serve our communities and country regardless of gender. We ARE Americans all. Cheers! Generally I do not study report in websites, even so wish to declare that the following write-up quite pressured everyone to try and do and so! A person's way of writing have been surprised us.. hírek web Thanks, very terrific posting.
"I just don't know any Muslim-Americans — and I know plenty — who feel that way, even if they are observant Muslims," he scowled.
Look, Tapper, If you had run into Muhammad Atta in a nightclub in 2001, you'd have thought the same thing about him. Relying on personal experience with Muslim acquaintances teaches you nothing. I know plenty of Muslims, and they seem fine. do I know they're fine? No. So, 473 days until the end of the current US presidency.
It strikes me that leaves very little time for much more substantive action from the Obama administration. For the sake of this foreigner, when do you folks generally start to consider a second-term presidency as "lame duck" or "place-holding"? I assume many of the brighter lights on Team Obama are already shopping their CVs around inside the Beltway? "Whom among us does not enjoy pretty girls in the showers?"
Nobody, but that's not what you'll get. I had hopes when once upon a time in Austria I went to the Zell am See municipal re building for a steam and a swim and was told the change/locker room was co-ed. Paunchy 45 year old naked wrinkly women with hair in a towel turban doing their makeup with a cigarette hanging out the corner of their mouths with breasts dangling was what I got. My eyes are still burning. Most pretty girls have way too much sense to take co-ed showers. |
