Conservatives sure do hate women: The War on Women Is Real

Devastating. One quote:

There has been some strange collateral damage in the Republican War on Women. We taught them that cooking and cleaning are for squares and they shouldn’t know how to do either. This has left young women today with apartments that are complete pigsties. There is nothing in the fridge and a mountain of clothes in one corner and a futon on the floor. This means millennial males end up having to do the cooking and cleaning themselves. Oh well, you can’t win them all.

The whole article is gold but the part you quoted is bang on. In my younger days I enjoyed cooking and it always seemed to amaze whatever girl that happened to be seeing at the time. I mean, it really surprised them, and I'm thinking, "Lady, it's just a crock pot."

Women (and honestly men, too) who cannot cook have created the obese culture we are surrounded by.

I like to cook because not only do I get to make what I like and how I like to eat it...I also get to control the calories in my food.

Trying to cut back? Remove the butter or cheese from a recipe. Replace beef with chicken. Add more vegetables. Use brown rice instead of white. Etc.

Without basic cooking knowledge, you are stuck buying prepackaged junk from the grocery store, frozen chicken nuggets and instant or microwaveable products.

Starches and concentrated sugars, not fats, are the problem.

It's the balance thing. A diet of 90% bacon is as bad as a diet of 90% wholegrain bread.

And that balance is different for each person, something doctors and dieticians don't seem to understand, prescribing the same standard diets for everyone.

Whatever diet you prefer, when you know how to cook, you get to make it. Otherwise, you are eating Cheetos and frozen pizza. That's what I was trying to get across...not start an argument about what is the 'best' diet.
