Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Amalfi: Mamma Agata

Friends have just returned from a week in Ravello, While there, the whole family (all 5 of them) took a full-day cooking class with Mama Agata. Despite their other holiday pleasures, they all agreed that was the high point of their trip. Mamma Agata (click on cooking classes - reservations required).


They stayed at Hotel Villa Cimbrone, which they recommend.

This brought back fond memories of our visit to Mamma Agata's around 15 years ago. Enjoyed a special meal with a spectacular view of the Amalfi coast.

We had a similar meal in Tuscany. Chef Matisse came to our villa in Greve and taught a cooking class for our family of six. I have raised a bunch of foodies so it was great fun. Just goes to show that experiences are much better than stuff for spending money on.
