We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Hillary Finds Deleting Emails Funny, Resurrects Vast Right Wing Conspiracy


It's a big joke. But - The Countless Crimes of Hillary Clinton: Special Prosecutor Needed Now. Hillary finally hands over her server—after it's been professionally wiped clean.


Hillary! and Bill are schemers, sociopaths, bad people with a 40-year record. I know that politics often attracts low-skill sociopaths, but Dems can do better. True that this is all far worse than Watergate which had nothing to do with anything important. That was pure scalp-hunting as was going after Bill for his female-abuse.


Federal criminal court is not the nightly news.

I'd be investigated, security clearance denied (within days), then fired (for not having a security clearance, a requirement for my job), and then prosecuted, for improperly removing and storing classified material. It's pretty clear what the protocol is, for us mere mortals.

The hypocrisy is indeed telling.

As your country continues to chase around after Edward Snowden for downloading a passel of TS SCI material from the NSA, a candidate for your highest public office appears to have had similar material forwarded to her private email server.

I think she is desperate. Probably if she had not choosen to run for president her many crimes would have remained in the closet. Now that they are out of the closet she is getting desperate. Her best possible hope would be some event, some really stupid mistake by Republicans or pure luck that would make her dramatically popular with the Democrats. Because if she can just get elected before this criminal probe becomes an indictment she can stop it. I think she has a 50/50 chance. The DOJ will take 2+ years to actually find any evidence on her computers HD. The Republicans are known for shooting themselves in the foot. And of course North Korea could attack South Korea and get her off the hotseat. So she will continue that "wicked witch of the North" laugh and offering free stuff to voters in an attempt to sway them and stall for time. I wouldn't bet against her... yet.

I don't think she'll ever have to face any more than the Benghazi committee since this DOJ is so corrupt and I doubt that even if the next president is Cruz, he won't sick his DOJ on her. One of the first things I would do as president is to open real investigations on all of the crimes of this administration firing any bureaucrats who impeded the investigations, jail the ones I could, fire those who are still working who are implicated, and terminate the pensions of those who have already retired if they are implicated.

It should be a firing offence to take the 5th with regard to official duties. There should never be a reason to take the 5th when discussing what you did in an official capacity.

Agreed that a GOP president would not prosecute any high 0bama officials. I would speculate they won't prosecute because when the Dems inevitably return to power there would be payback and nobody wants that.

It could play out that way.

What I am wondering is why the email scandal blew up when it did? It has been out there for months. Why didn't the DOJ/FBI go after her long ago?

What's also interesting now is that the dems seem truly worried about it. If there was going to be a whitewash I am thinking their commentary would be much more cavalier. Even they seem to think she is in serious trouble.

Going after Bill was for lying and covering evidence, not female abuse. The nonpolitical crowd got interested because of the sex; conservatives focused on the abuse of the legal system. The accusation that it was the Republicans who were obsessed about sex was largely backward: Democrats were obsessed with making it about sex.

As for Hillary laughing it off, I no longer have any clue whether she means it or just knows it's the best political strategy. This has gone on so long that she may not be aware of the difference anymore. CS Lewis believed that sins take on a life of their own, and slowly take over the personality, until there is no longer any lying, but simply a Lie going on and on of its own accord.
