We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Bird Dog- My thanks are long overdue for the great job you do and the invaluable stuff that I'd miss w/o you. This Evangelical Climate Change letter of encouragement depresses me, particularly since the pres. of my churches seminary (Evang. Covenant Church) is on there. I've been holding my pastors feet to the fire for over a year because our ECC pres. is a signator on the Evang. Immigration Table, a veritable "who's who" of the Evangelical church.
I know this isn't the first time in church history that its leaders have done a piss-poor job of guiding the flock, but it sucks anyway.
De-policing: As an experiment or slective city policy it is fine with me. Make it publicand well known so that no law abiding citizens inadvertently goto one of these cities and lets see how that allworks out for the locals. Baltimore has been a stinking pile of corruption and black crime/violence for years. Let's see how bad it can get and howmany of the perps can off each other. Perhaps this is the ony way the liberals will understand the effects of their policies. They destroyed Detroit, one a great city with jobs and industry and now a city of empty homes and broken dreams. So why not Baltimore next? Maybe even NY City.
