Re Confederate Flags: President of the Atlanta NAACP wants the carving of Confederate leaders sand-blasted off the side of Stone Mountain. It being Bastille Day, why don't we dig up the corpse of Robert E. Lee and guillotine him, for good measure?

The graph that shows the rise in global temperature since the 1800's is part of a broader cyclical pattern. The correlation between rising temperatures and industrialization may be coincidental. It has not been proven if rising co2 levels causes warming or if such warming, if it even exists, if harmful.

No one alive in this country has suffered under the whip of slave masters* (except us working productive class who pay up to 55% of our income to the overlords in the Mordor on the Potomac) and we should not be punished for sins of others. (collectivism) Those descended from slaves, if not sold into slavery, would now be luxuriating in the third world that IS most of Africa.

We all know this is a bogus argument in order to complete cultural genocide and remove all vestiges of anything that most americans hold dear and basically western civilization of course, but that aside:

Why is it that in the animal world, animals that live in groups have pecking orders or hierarchy where the strongest, smartest, bravest animal is the head honcho?

Because when you let the weakest member run the show, the group eventually self destructs, is destroyed from outside, or goes extinct.

If people are so vulnerable that they can't even be reminded of the sins of the past (which defies common sense of learning from mistakes- parenting 101) then they are too weak to live in this world, much less be telling everyone else how they should live. Some of the sheep are actually falling for this and calling 911 when they see something that "offends" them.

*real slavery is alive and well in places like Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Africa, but crickets about that.

As anyone who has lived in Seattle for very long knows, the Boeing Company now is strongly controlled by the Chicago crowd. However, there is also a very large Jewish investment/management component in Seattle. I am curious to see if the people of this good community will sell their shares !

Eating alone is not sad. I've done it many times in public! At a restaurant! On purpose! (the horror!)

Before I was married and when I was living in a new town where I knew pretty much no one, I had NO problems going to restaurants by myself...with a good book or the newspaper. I didn't have to make polite conversation. I got to eat a good meal, prepared by someone else, do some people watching, read some chapters in a great book and not feel like I spent the day by myself.

I have also been to many movies alone. It's really quite nice. You can decide at the last minute to head into theater without discussion or delay. You can see what you want. You can focus 100% on the movie.

Somehow I feel introverts are being a target this week on Maggie's! ;-)

Thank goodness these profiteering dangers to public health were shut down in time. There's no telling what diseases they could have spread from the popcorn and lemonade from a kitchen that had not been inspected! Confederate Flag: Oh, the horror. Slavery was around pretty much all over the world long before there was an America to blame, and the "America to blame" existed before that flag was made. Slavery still exists elsewhere. Let's remind them it was, and still is, a Democrat flag.

But it should work that way. Anyone who knowingly comes to the U.S. legally or illegally with the intent to have their child born here to sneak into the country through that loophole should be jailed.

Deport everyone here illegally.
Impeach judges that won't enforce the laws and engage in interfering with justice.

We don't have to rewrite the laws. The laws in place could be enforced. It is a crime to enter the U.S. illegally and deportation is and always has been the correct response. It is only recently that the federal government has choosen to not enforce the existing laws.

Judges DO put their biases into their decisions and the DO interfere in the legal process. My point was that when it is the judges who choose to not enforce the laws then we should impeach them. Read their oath of office.

Enforcement of immigration laws should be mandatory.

you want to prosecute all illegal border crossers, most of whom aren't smuggling drugs or trafficking in other illegals. the DOJ doesn't have to the resources to prosecute these people. and doing so would be flat out stupid. the link, which you did not or could not read, explains this.

a border crosser commits a crime for which the penalty is jail or prison and a fine. there's no deportation under the criminal code. this ties up an AUSA, a court appointed public defender, a courtroom, a federal judge and federal magistrate and jail space since you probably don't want to allow bail and a jury -- because, hello genius, this is a trial and accused have constitutional rights. all for a first time misdemeanor offense and a maximum 6 month jail term. trials could wait for months, possibly years if the system is flooded the way you want it to be.

then the immigration authorities can deport him. after a trial before an immigration judge because even illegals have constitutional rights.

nice job, you've done exactly nothing.

If it is done right there would be no need to prosecute all of them. Offer them a plea bargain. They either admit they illegally crossed the border and accept deportation and can never enter the U.S. again, Or you prosecute them for illegal entry and when found guilty they get a jail sentence followed by deportation and they can never enter the U.S. again. Most would take door number one.

The alternative is chaos.

Sorry Donny--you got that one wrong--or maybe I didn't say it clearly. I dislike Netanyahu--but by G**D I wish we had someone looking after us the way he looks after Israel. Now we have this deal which to my mind is very bad for everyone--Jewish Americans can express their displeasure over this by confronting the issue of the huge rewards that Boeing will make from this deal.
You can and should use this tool (Boeing ownership and/or management jobs) to express contempt for the deal. The short term profit to my mind will not nearly cover the long term loss.
