We’ve blown past the antiquated mores in which living on charity was shameful. What’s shameful now is not spending enough money to subsidize the inflated entitlement of the perpetually outraged

If an immigrant with eight kids and fewer language skills than even one of the graduates of Baltimore’s overfunded and thoroughly broken schools can swing the financing to open a store that provides vital malt liquor, lottery and potato chip services to the neighborhood, why can’t the looters pawing through the debris of his store figure out the same trick?

We have created this problem intentionally and it wasn't ever about helping the poor. It ws always a Democrat plan to buy the votes of the poor with tax money. It doesn't matter to the left if it bankrupts the country and corrupts the constitution because if it works then they are in power and can use the "crisis" to push through whatever legislation suits their agenda.

How do you sell Marxism to the richest country in the world? By bankrupting the country and using the poor and new immigrants to vote you into power to "fix" it. The fix is to tax the rich (that means the middle class) and give more free stuff to buy more votes.

Sad truth: the people in Baltimore, black and white, with more native intelligence moved to the suburbs. Many are wealthy now. The immigrants have one less obstacle than those left behind - they are smarter. This trumps all the other things we blather about, such as schools, language, gumption, etc.

They don't because they can't. They could almost certainly do better. They just as certainly can't do well. Liberals and conservatives both refuse to see this for different reasons, but ultimately, because it destroys their favorite theories. I'm not talking theory.

There is no mystery here. The average IQ of the looters is about 70. They are unteachable and untrainable and have no conceivable economic function.

Immigrants are a self-selected bunch and are not representative of their country of origin or their race. They tend to have higher IQ's, are much more strongly motivated to succeed, are risk takers (in the good sense) and have stronger family structures to begin with.

I do not have an obvious solution what the nation does. Would guaranteed low-paying jobs in public works, expensive as that is, be enough of a net social plus to be worth it? Of course, unions would likely object to that.

I wonder if we could focus on what makes populations of different IQs split apart in the first place? It shouldn't be too hard to identify policies that cause High-IQ-flight. I don't know of any reason why people of different IQs can't live together in peace and prosperity, as long as the ones with great options and mobility aren't chased away by crime, taxes, and other inanity. There's a lot of talk about how we've created a new economic reality in which there's no place for low-IQ workers. Maybe we've just priced them out of the market in a quest to eliminate income inequality. Lot of good it did anyone.

IQ as a result of testing is not a static thing that cannot be changed. In this discussion it is important to understand that many of these "low IQ" people are not stupid but choose to not learn. Their culture rejects school, learning and homework and the schools allow them to do exactly that with little effort to change it. Their parents are in almost all cases of a similar background and could care less if their children actually learn anything in school. The result is more than low IQ test scores. The result is that these people have little or no skills, cannot speak proper English and are completely clueless as to how ignorant they are. They truely believe that the reason they do not get hired is because of discrimination and have little to no comprehension of how their own bad choices have set them up for failure.
