We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I used to think House was dumb also. However, 20 months into flailing efforts by Kaiser to cure a problem with my mouth, I see it a little differently. Months ago, it degenerated into "let's try this drug for a while". So far, nothing has helped. (Glad the ailment is not fatal!)
However, one one of the drugs suppressed my immune system and brought on an attack of shingles (my second and despite vaccination), followed by some nasty boils.
So neglecting that antics that would have cost a real doctor their medical license, the "try this, try that" thing is not so far off. Unfortunately.
Now that I am done spritzing coffee thru my nose, I shall comment:
I've seen about a half dozen episodes of House. It goes from quirky to formulaic rather quickly. And by 'formulaic', I mean capable of being summarized in a hilarious 30 second animated GIF. Excuse me now, I need to go blot a coffee stain.
