We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Obama Just Called This "Rotting, Decaying Hellhole" A Symbol Of "Promise For The Nation"
Because that's his vision for the rest of the country. Not that Camden is going to crawl out of squalor, but the rest of the country is going to sink to it's level of decay, corruption and third world hellhole status. Those pictures look like Haiti.
Some of the country is already there; think Detroit, Chicago, Stockton...
…Central Milwaukee, Memphis, St. Louis (beyond Ferguson), Miami, El Paso…it's not our grandparents country any more.
I apologize in advance if this FYI is unnecessary or unrelated, but I suspect your website is redirecting to Go Garden Club .com. I've done the usually things on my machine when odd things pop up, but still your home page tab redirects to a different website. A quick search shows that other sites may have the same issue and it may be related to Site Meter.
This is happening tome too. I assumed it was more of my crazy computers quirks. I can't wait to buy a new lap top this one has been nothing but problems since day one. So being redirected seemed like just another quirk but since others are having the problem I guess I can't blame the computer.
This is happening a lot to a lot of people. Google "redirect gogardenclub" and you can get an idea of how wide spread it is.
Sometimes I get redirected to Myspace.com. It's annoying but so far it seems benign.
delete the Sitemeter widget if you have it, that's being reported as a source
I don't have Sitemeter so there is at least another cause.
"How Soaring Housing Costs Impoverish a Whole Generation"
The author uses his home town ofSan Francisco as proof of his claim. Well duh! San Francisco is probably the most expensive city for housing in the country.
In general the author is wrong. Housing prices are down even though there are indeed areas of the country where housing is expensive. The problem with the cost of housing, automobiles, food, etc. is that for a number of years now we have had considerable inflation without the benefit of most wages keeping pace. Housing prices simply reflect this reality. But in most cities and most states the cost of a house is still a bargain. When you include the incredible low interest rates on mortgages home ownership is cheaper than ever.

Obummer, who sends his kids to private school, complains that people who send their kids to private school contribute to less opportunities for everybody.
Is there any more to be said?
I know many rich liberals who are vocal in their opposition to private schools - while their children have never set foot in a public school. They just shrug when I call them on their hypocrisy.
Right. They're just looking out for their children.
I understand that a significant percentage of union public school teachers send their kids to private school. As Walter Williams says, "Would you eat at a restaurant where the roaches wouldn't eat?"
It's bad for society to send your kids to private schools but that just means everybody else's kids have to go to public schools.
If I wasn't paying property taxes for three properties, two residential, one commercial, I might be able to afford sending my kids to private school.
The MA Berkshires: Four businesses profiled, all in the space of a city block, and all run by recent transplants from NY, LA, or Goldsboro, North Carolina.
