We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
When you limit the spectrum to simple calories and a handful of known problematic substances, of course you can slap "unhealthful" on a salad. Problem is what happens when you 1) make a proper salad, 2) reduce its portion size to something roughly as filling as a miniscule Big Mac (have you actually hefted one lately?) and 3) rule back in the full spectrum of nutritional elements.
None of which are present here. Like I say, junk science. Tossed-off clickbait disguised as valid findings.
Eat what you like to eat and if your goal is to reduce calories eat smaller portions. If you like salads than eat half a salad. If you like big macs than eat half a big mac. I can eat a salad but I don't enjoy it. Maybe if it has bacon, a couple of sliced hard boiled eggs and crab I would enjoy it.
