We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
A few years earlier, he recalled, an M.C. in an elegant Chicago club had introduced him thus: 'O.K., folks, time to pull out your chitlins and your collard greens, your pigs’ feet and your watermelons, because here is B. B. King.'... When he saw 'long-haired white people' lining up outside the Fillmore, he said, he told his road manager, 'I think they booked us in the wrong place.'
Debra Heine: We’ve all come to expect these little mask-slipping episodes from Obama these past six+ years, but comments about controlling the media are particularly unsettling. What on earth was he proposing?
Obama: And that’s a hard process, because that requires a much broader conversation than typically we have.
And the ability to read minds. Obama has not offered any direct comments about what he would like the press to do, so, it until then becomes a inkblot for those to parade their various and sundry bon mots and brickbats.
This is a tactic the left is proud off - to the point of announcing it to all: "never let a crisis go to waste."
As for Amtrak, they shouldn't defund it, they should either sell it or give it away. Politicians love to have new train stops in their district whether one is needed or not. It is ridiculously inefficient and except for the northeast commuter lines, it is a huge money pit. Amtrak is another idiot domestic policy idea from Nixon.
The Clintons have a long history in graft, corruptiion and crime. We all know this, even the most ardent Clinton supporters know this. Their crime spree is over four decades long and still growing. Arguably Mrs Clinton committed treason in some her recent dealings with Russia. I tend to believe that if she runs she will win and if she wins she will continue the Clinton crime family business in office as president. This is such a sad reflection on America and American voters.
One thing I've not heard anybody allude to regarding the whole nuclear negotiations is that Obummer is tying all the sanctions to the nuclear deal and ignoring the rest of Iran's destabilizing activities. So in the least likely best case scenario where Iran keeps the nuke deal, there is nothing to stop them from continuing their other trouble making. Indeed, they have been causing trouble all over the Middle East while they were under "tough" sanctions.
How do you discourage Iran from that unwanted activity? We certainly would not be able to institute sanctions again - we just finished ending sanctions.
So the question we need to ask is, "after the nuke deal is lifted, what's next?" Nobody seems to be asking that question.
Yup, Jesus is to the left of the Democrat Party. Who can forget the Sermon at the Amphitheater which called for confiscatory taxes and unlimited authority for government to compel and coerce obedience to its laws? Or the Sermon at the Coliseum which demanded all peoples submit to the authority of God's government?
If I have Maggie's open and then open a new tab, my MF tab goes blank with a "service unavailable" message. It only seems to happen with Maggie's and not anyone else. As long as I am on Maggie's page there is no problem, but if I open another tab, it is gone.
A minor inconvenience to be sure, but it is bothering me.
Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me?
I was getting that a couple of days ago but lately, I'm getting redirected to gogardenclub.com. In fact it just happened to me while I was looking somewhere else. I found a forum where people were complaining about this and that page got redirected, too!
In this case, just clicking the back button gets me back where I want - even if I'm in the middle of a post! A PITA!
Yes mudbug, I picked up that garden club site as well. And it has opened a couple of times as I have surfed the net,. Though I suspected it came from MF I did not know for sure. If I have malware in my PC I can't find it.
One other thing, when the MF tab goes blank and the service unavailable message pops up, right clicking to reload the tab will bring that garden club site up. Not happy about that either.
