The thugs using the suspicious death of Freddie Gray (at the hands of a Democrat-led police department) to justify the looting that updates their home entertainment systems, are Democrats protesting Democrat leaders and Democrat policies in a Democrat-run city.

The councilman thinks it's a economic issue, does he not think there are any poor white economically depressed areas? Why do we never see rioting and looting there? There is a damn good reason Obama and the mayor called these folks thugs and the apologists went full outrage.

Charleston, SC: Mob Of Black Teens Rampage Through City

From the story:

"As many as 60 teens were roaming Charleston streets attacking pedestrians and drivers early Sunday, witnesses told police dispatchers in 911 calls released Tuesday.

All the teens were black, according to witnesses, and all but one of the people attacked were white. Still, it’s unclear if the attacks were racially motivated or sparked by the unrest in Baltimore, which followed the recent shooting death of Walter Scott, a black man, by a white North Charleston police officer. [...]

Terror could be heard in the voices of many of the callers, including a man who called from his car and said he was being blocked by about 50 teens.

“They just smacked my car,” he told the operator. “I’m flooring it in reverse. This is just ridiculous. … I’m getting the hell out of here, man. They just smacked another car.”

He said a group began beating a man.

Ironically, the group of teens had just left their local YWCA, which carries the motto, “Empowering Women and Eliminating Racism.” Only one arrest has been made so far."

The African-American rate of violent crime is much higher than the white or hispanic rate. And yet it is still true that the violent people are a small minority, while decent people are staying back or even trying to stop them.

One person can destroy the work of a hundred others.

I think that sums it up pretty nicely.

White Americans - who are not Democrat politicians - are not out to systematically prevent blacks from advancing. That's especially true for white American business owners. Eliminating a significant portion of the population from your customer base is a recipe for failure. So is hiring based on color rather than ability. The only color that interests white business owners is green - can you help my business make more money?

However, I think it's accurate to say that most white Americans - and even some brown and black ones - are getting fed up with blacks blaming all of their personal shortcomings on whites and using any excuse to loot and burn (usually stores in their own neighborhoods) and then demand more government money to provide the wrong solution to the wrong problem.

The problem isn't poverty or lack of education or lack of jobs. Those are all consequences of the real problem - a lack of values and the disintegration of the family that has resulted from decades of failed Progressive nanny state policies.

There are many people who are uneducated (which is different than dumb) and/or poor who don't behave the way these animals act. When I saw this picture, it immediately brought to mind the remake of Planet of the Apes:

One of the key principles of a free society is private property rights and it is a fundamental duty of government - indeed, it's the reason government is created - to protect property rights, property being one's person and one's possessions. To appease these terrorists, our government has abdicated its duty. Rather than sitting idly by and not only allowing this behavior, but incentivizing it by allowing them to keep their ill gotten loot, our officials should be protecting private property using whatever force is needed - including shooting those who refuse to honor the rights of others.

indeed, and decades of "affirmative action" and "positive discrimination" only make it worse (and no doubt deliberately so).

If a black person holds a job, it's impossible to know whether (s)he was hired based on the colour of their skin or based on actual qualifications.
And the same goes for so many other things.
There are now so many subsidies and other benefits that are open only to "minorities" that a lot of resentment is created towards them by those paying for it all (and those who would benefit from it but don't qualify because they're white).

Prejudice comes in two categories (at least): benign and malignant. Most or many people have benign prejudice against others who are disimilar (religion, appearance, clothing, language, culture, etc..). Comes from our affiliating with those more similar to us (family, neighbor) than distant.

Malignant prejudice results in action.

Aristotle, I believe said that the difference between the good an evil man is that the good has evil thoughts; the evil man acts upon them.
