Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Fun with Starbucks


I'll admit I like Starbucks' burnt coffee, but I hate the lines so I avoid it and, since Dunkin Donuts with its familiar, lousy coffee is such an important supporter of our site, might as well have some fun with their silliness. These from various places on the net:

The great thing about Starbucks coffee is that it lasts forever because I have no desire to drink it and can nurse it along for hours between flights.

The best thing about Starbucks coffee is that you can spend a ridiculous amount of money on coffee with all kinds of stuff in it to hide the burnt taste.

The second best thing about Starbucks coffee is there there is other coffee that tastes good by itself (OK, that's not really about Starbucks coffee, but I couldn't think of anything else that was good about it).

What a deal, Coffee with a lecture, all for 10 bucks. After 10 cups get a college credit in social studies. Collect 3 credits in all six subjects (above picture) and you too can join Starbucks behind the counter without having to spend 4 years in college.

Saw on Drudge this afternoon that Starbucks has pulled this idea. Too much heat in the kitchen?
