We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Why Do Universities Hate Christianity So Much?

I thought we knew the answer (in leftist politics), but it's getting muddled because "identity groups" can be so darn confusing. Now the Jews are hated on campi too because they are said to oppress Arabs, which makes Arab religion ok because they are termed a victim identity group even though religion of any sort is a negative for the left.


Almost every illegal hispanic immigrant is Roman Catholic, so does that make RC ok?

My thinking is this:

Universities are run by authoritarian types that get their rocks off ordering the little people about.

When the little people answer to a higher authority than man they find it insulting and infuriating. That makes it logical for them to hate Christianity. If they could only eliminate it, the little people would be easier to control, or so goes the thinking.

I also believe that Christianity strikes a nerve of the Godless Left. On some level it reminds them they are not immortal, nor good, ..... that they are less than. And they don't like that one bit either.

My guess?

It's the Christians that form the real political opposition to the Left's agenda, particularly on abortion, one of the cornerstones of leftist dogma. The Hindu demographic is just too small for them to notice.

As for Islam, they are not actively opposing the Left's agenda in the United States, therefore the religion can be ignored for now.

My thinking is that if Muslims started marching en mass on D.C. to stop say, abortions, the Left would learn to hate them in short order.

Muslims are big time homophobes, and lately ISIS has been demonstrating that emphatically. That hasn't seemed to bother the left, as yet.

Sadly, universities used to contribute the changing of the "hearts of men", but they abandoned the Humanities for the system of machinery, kingdom of the tyrant due solely because that was where the money was.
